Alas, I've been racking my brains, and can think of no such station in West Yorkshire!

This Hanif Mussa has a much more down to earth role and achieved wider awareness only last Tuesday

OK - as there have been no takers for a week, I'll offer another one for the history buffs, in two parts:-

i] Which Yorkshire town had two stations - one suffixed "Top" and the other [in the 50s] suffixed "Low"?

ii] When one closed, the other lost its suffix, and is still open. Which one is that?

Good try, but sorry, wrong answer.

Halifax actually had three stations. One may have locally been known as the "top" station, but it was officially "Halifax High Level, St Pauls".

There was also North Bridge station, which was on the GN line to Queensbury & Bradford/Keighley, into which the branch from St Paul's formed a trailing connection at Holmfield.

And the one remaining although now much reduced, is the original [replacing the former station at Shaw Syke] called Halifax "Old", later "Town" and now just "Halifax"

And although that is down in the old part of the town in the Hebble Valley, it has never officially been called "Low"

Morley Top was on the GN branch from Bradford Exchange to Wakefield Westgate via Ardsley, and in the 1950s, the Morley station on the LNWR line from Leeds City to Huddersfield was renamed "Low"

When Morley Top closed in the 60s, Morley Low became simply "Morley" again, as it still is now.

Accident damage is partially correct.

I'm not aware that either were renamed.

Rebuilt is what I was after (both were written off, and replacements were built utilising the same number/name, but due to accounting fiddles were not regarded as "new" locos...).
