The KCR East Rail Line in Hong Kong was built by the British before the handover, and unsurprisingly uses British-style 4-aspect signals. However, somewhat uniquely, the signals have an additional 5th aspect. What colour is this aspect, and what does it mean?

That's right. Fitted to his 15 in gauge locomotives Ella, 0-6-0T and Muriel, 0-8-0T. There is an explanation of how it worked on the Douglas Self website. Both were sold to the Ravenglass & Eskdale in 1923 and sadly Ella was scrapped in 1927. However Muriel survives after conversion to 0-8-2 River Irt, now the oldest operational 15 in gauge locomotive in the world. Whether she retains the radial axles I haven't been able to find out from a quick Google.

Yes in 1968 four years after closure to passengers. It was used by Prince Phillip IIRC. D1023 and D832 were the locos concerned.
