Well I see that Lindsey Oil Refinery has some paths in the diary starting from December - in line with when Milford Haven will cease operations.as the post says 'and then road' so it'd be presumably via M5 and M4.

I believe it has but Humber Oil Refinery is still operating, which is next door to Lindsey, and uses the same paths.I thought that Lindsey refinery had closed?
Correct - there is also a plan to restart deliveries to Jarrow soon.I have read that Humber are now using Lindsey for oil storage and the occasional dispatch of trains.
Excellent- no Jarrow oil for a long time.Correct - there is also a plan to restart deliveries to Jarrow soon.

Could that be the end of the Westerleigh line? There’s also the OTP depot but I guess that could be accommodated somewhere else. Sustrans will be on the case immediately given they already have a path on the remaining section of the former Midland route.I've read Westerleigh will be served by sea to Avonmouth and then road. Don't know about Theale.
There used to up to 15 oil trains a day to and from the three Milford Haven refineries when I was holidaying in Pembrokeshire in the 1970s. Wagonload freight, parcels and sleeper trains were running too. Spent many happy hours in Johnston signal box watching them.
The Robeston oil traffic is down to 3 trains a week now, and from December there will be nothing. With the Fishguard freight traffic also long gone, freight traffic in Pembrokeshire / West Wales will be finished.
