Hi all,

Is it me, or does the Class 442 model for the Dorset Coast route have really crappy brakes, when in multiple, as a 10-car, yet had quite decent ones when on its own?

I've just recently done the 08:05 Waterloo to Brockenhurst activity, with 2x442's, with the rear unit uncoupled at Southampton Central.

When in multiple, I had to hit the emergency brake around 7 times!! Just to get it to slow down properly, and I had around 3 or 4 SPADs!

Once I was running as a single, I only had one emergency brake/SPAD, at the same time, but it was because I was trying to really stretch the train. (Naughty me!)

Thanks for your comments/Suggestions

Ok thanks, didn't think about hitting the sander, but i wasn't speeding on the Waterloo to Basingstoke/Winchester section at all. (Which is where the majority of SPADs/Emergency Brakes happened)
