Hi does anyone know where you can buy quail maps from apart from online.....im after a shop or premises I can go into, if anyone knows of a chain of stores or even a premises where they sell them in the uk...
Thanks...![]()
Actually the only caveat to that is that they might not have a full set, the earlier ones like Eastern (2006) and Scotland/Isle of Man (2007) are quite old now so may be harder to find.
FYI both Scottish and Eastern Quails were in stock in WH Smith in York on Saturday, I think the only one I didn't see was the Southern book. Perhaps they reprinted them.
Why do you want Quail maps?
Got an interview for a train driving job with DCR?![]()
Please note this is not a serious question, the maps are rather good especially to look at when travelling around.
Best used in combination with this, or not

The SA that is available online is nowhere near current though. 2008-2009 I think the majority come from. So in a lot of areas will be totally out of date too
The ones you can download if you register are generally up to date. I think this is where the TOCs are now encouraged to get theirs from.

Yes but they are only available to people in the industry. Anyone without that facility get the out of date ones. Some quails are more up to date
I bought my first Quail, for the Southern region at the NYMR bookshop at Pickering. The others came from Amazon. (I think my Southern one needs replacing, it's black and white, all the others are in colour and it must have been be issued 2006 or a bit earlier I think.)
There's always the monthly update in Modern Railways. Never seen the point myself but I'm sure there are some completists who annotate their Quails religiously.
