Today at a London Overground station I asked to renew my Gold Card season ticket, which is for a route nowhere near London. The clerk got out a blank Travelcard, and I pointed this out. He said "it's the same thing", and that he didn't have any of the normal type. I preferred not to risk confusion, so I decided to get it somewhere else.
If I'd bought the ticket on Travelcard stock, might it have caused problems? I mean when used as a season ticket/Gold Card, not trying to pass it off in London as a valid Travelcard.
More generally, if someone needs a ticket to travel immediately and the clerk doesn't have the right stock, is the solution to get them to write something on the ticket, or something else?
