Did Steve Jobs know something Bill Gates doesn't?
Nah, he was just a UNIX fan. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_2038_problem

I'd write to ATOC and ask if the tickets will be refundable in the event of the world ending.
You could always meet up 'on the other side' though?
Make sure you get your ticket to heaven sorted now though, as the staff manning the pearly gates have never been the same since Saint Peter outsourced the security to G4S.
My Mac only goes to 2038!
(And the Mayans made absolutely no predictions with regards to what will happen on 21-12-2012. That's just the date that their calendar rolls over.)
Indeed, and they made absolutely no mention of the apocalypse either, which any passing glance at the thread title might suggest.
No.So, does anyone here believe we only have 3 weeks left before the end of the world?
No.
Why are people obsessed with "the end of the world". And more to the point why do people believe others who claim they can "predict" it, and that it's coming "soon"? Funny how such predictions have come and gone over the centuries and yet we are still here.
The only time I'd listen is if astronomers said there was a massive asteroid headed our way and there was nothing we could do about it. Then that would be a time to worry.
Who the bloody hell are these Mayans?!
They've already long since had the end of their world though haven't they?!
Where is the like button when you need it![]()
Such a button, in my opinion, is way more destructive to society than the big red one you mentioned upthread.![]()
Im more scared of the bbc red button
I'm more scared of the delete button on my keyboard when combined with alt and ctrl
So am I after using this very combination on Sunday corrupted my 11-year-old desktop computer's System file

Why? It should only bring up task manager. Unless you fiddled about with it.
But I cannot see how it wouldve corrupted anything
When I saw the title of this thread I assumed it was somebody on here telling everybody they'd just had a rather terminal medical diagnosis.
Instead it's yet again another 'end of the world' story.
And, as usual, opinions are worthlessIt's not actually a story, just wondered what peoples opinions were. From people I know, opinions are very 50/50.
