Are you counting a,b,c, etc., individually or as parts of a whole? If the former, Chester almost certainly counts.

And are you talking individual hour or averaged out over a (working) day? There are occasional hours where Ince & Elton and Stanlow & Thornton have 2tph but if you take it over the whole day they have much fewer than that, and I'll bet there's quite a few small stations in that category.

Way to take out the obvious one

Staying by the sea, Clacton and Great Yarmouth both have four platforms. However, for the most part they have an hourly service! But even they cannot match Skegness, which also has one departure an hour - across six platforms.

Other seaside destinations in this position include Scarborough (five platforms, three trains every two hours), Lowestoft (three platforms, three trains every two hours), and Cleethorpes (three platforms, three trains every two hours).

It would appear to have three platforms still in use... and three services per hour. (One of which terminates short at Purley.)

Wouldn't normally write Paragon, but 'Hull' on its own falls foul of the 5 character post rule.

To take out all of the "cheating" answers, any station with an average of less than one train per hour. That way we won't clog the thread with answers like "Denton" (yes, I know, that was mine), "Wick", or "Newquay".

As for another reasonable answer, Bedminster has three usable platforms but only Super-Mud stopping services call there, giving one service each way.

I guess it has them because otherwise trains heding towards Wigan would have to cross over to the platforms on the Chorley lines and back again, which would cause more disruption than simply having platforms on all four lines. Very similar to Church Fenton, which has four platforms, and an off peak 2 hourly service each way, but to have the handful of trains using the Sheffield lines crossing over to the Leeds side would block off the busy Leeds lines for several minutes each time it happened.
