Person hit by train affecting all Virgin service out of Euston to Crewe at the moment? Does anyone have any more details? Daughter supposed to be going home on 18:10 back to Chester tonight!

@LondonMidland 4m
#MiltonKeynes - The slow line has now re-opened and services will begin calling at Milton Keynes Central.

Doesn't seem to be any ticket acceptance between LM & Virgin.

Virgin have just replied to my tweet. Ticket acceptance with great escape on VT.
1S87 Euston to Glasgow Central is train involved.
My thoughts go out to all involved![]()
For anyone wondering, that's the 1657 ex-Euston.
Busy train too when ever I've used it.
At around 12:20 I saw a light diesel loco travelling south - a Thunderbird, perhaps?
No, believe what you saw was this http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/O75982/2014/02/19/advanced , which was a DRS Class 37 (605?) running light engine from Derby RTC to Hither Green
Yeah, I've found that too. On a 9-car set it's not unusual for every pair of seats to be occupied [by one person] until Lichfield.
Supposedly, the incident occurred just to the North of the station, and therefore the station itself could be reopened reasonably quickly - as has apparently just happened.
Is there a statistic of how many people who are struck by a train die... It must be a pretty shockingly high rate I would imagine?hock:
Ryan of course I understand. I only ask because it seems an almost guaranteed way to kill yourself, and I just remember after a fatality last year a driver stating he didn't get why someone would jump in front of a train.
Just seemed like a bizarre comment, given if someone is intent on taking their own life, a train seems almost guaranteed.
