Currently they are now saying late 2012, ie the December 2012 timetable change. (They haven't even started working on it yet).

They have, tree works began about a month ago to clear the embankment where the spur will be reinstated to Surrey Quays. Look out of the right hand window of a train between Queen's Rd Peckham and South Bermondsey.

Bombardier, reliable on time?

You probably now that I never resist a dig at Bombardier, but to give them the benefit of the doubt; if their problems are mainly down to other suppliers, I have to hope that in the next 3-5 years, they'll get things sorted and be able to build reliable trains again.

I'm sorry but if your company builds trains to a high quality design, it should be possible to make them near 100% reliable. Imagine if Airbus or Boeing were at this standard (and, I know Bombardier make planes too - which I presume have higher standards!).

Thanks for letting me know, is the path still open? I live in North London (tho best mate lives around the corner) so don't get down there that much.

Like to walk it before it gets built on.

As far as I know, all they've done so far is clear the trees from the spur embankment. TfL held an 'information session' at Millwall FC on Monday (March 7th), to let locals know what'll be happening, so major works are presumably due to start any day soon.

More info here and here (pdf).

There was demolition work going on at the site where the line crosses the old access lines viaduct to bricklayers arms late last week (next to the big recycling plant), saw it from the train.
