A couple of days ago in Matlock, a Ford Consul Capri, beautifully restored in bright blue (similar to the picture in this link (Wikipedia)). Holding up traffic - stopped on a pedestrian crossing zigzag, half on the pavement. Protected by warning triangle, though, so not like the recent St Pancras incident, and no need for the bomb squad. The disconsolate owner, waiting for recovery nearby, told me his sad tale of clutch failure.

Those large saloons are an increasingly rare sight!

I didn't manage to grab a picture but I was following a Ford Sierra XR4i down the M6 for a bit last weekend. It gave me a big smile to see it.

A well worn K reg Rover 400 (couldn't see the exact version) this morning. Sounded decent though could do with a repaint.

Not sure if it really counts because this was at a vintage transport show in a town centre, but this Cadillac coupe de ville was truly impressive and extremely well cared for.

The dog and I have just been passed by a 1961 Ford Zephyr convertible, looked in excellent condition and a quick check shows that the owner puts it through an MOT every year with no advisories since 2020

Sunday morning. 5:30am walk German Shepherd. 6:30am take glass recyling to Asda; and discover...

- 1960-model Chrysler Windsor, and Dodge Charger behind (chatty owner has a Caddy and Mustang Mach 1 too).

- A 1971 Datsun 521 pickup; the model was, I think, Datsun's first pickup into UK market.

- Ford Zodiac Mk3. In a better position, than when I photo'd it earlier this summer. Not in its original colour (DVLA states it is white).

And here's a 1955 Cadillac Fleetwood, at a car meet in our local town centre, a couple of years ago.

Utterly glorious, @WesternLancer 8-) I am a sucker for that mid-1950s to early-1960s over-the-top style.

Mustang of some sort in London Colney retail park this morning. The red looked much better IRL than the picture.

I wasn't quick enough to get the camera out, but I spotted a lovely old Morris Minor leaving Tesco yesterday. It wasn't in showroom condition, but it was in great shape nonetheless. The reg had three letters and three numbers and it was fairly local (AS - Inverness identifier), so pre-1965. Judging by the look of the driver, it could well be a case of "one careful lady driver" from new.

Much as I love the sight of an immaculate, chrome-sparkled, paint-glistened older car, I'm happiest when I see a cherished "daily driver", beihg used exactly what it was intended for.
Those seem to be ever-rarer, so well done for spotting one! 8-)
