OR get former Seagulls to get a book together themselves,
saying that, I would love to read a book filled with stories from BR from everyone, certainly would buy a few copies,
It is precisely for the reason that I remember stumbling around Watford Jct and on the DCs with the collection of 3rd and 4th rails that I dislike the stuff so much !Bit of a strange attitude considering that probably the highest linespeed 3rd rail fitted track in the world. Was under the control of the next box up the line from yours.
I am sure it is until you accidentally come across it one dark night and it starts to burn its way through you, cooking you slowly.
Laying in wait in the rain for some poor unfortunate chap to step into a puddle of water and then BANG and its goodnight Vienna for you, old chap !
I dont like it at all, I much prefer the OHL its much more civilised and if you leave it alone it wont come out to grab hold of you !

I am a Southern Region man myself so I love the stuff, and the units which operated over them. It's lovely jubly!![]()
I wonder if you ever knew the West Indian patrolman on the NLL whose hands had been bleached white after a tool he was using came into contact with the third rail one day ?
