Hi folks.

So I recently interviewed for a job with Network Rail to be an Off-Track Operative. I received this email back from them:

"We can confirm, you successfully passed the interview on the day. The vacancies available are for a recruitment campaign over a staggered period of time until February 2019. Due to the number of vacancies available for the initial intake we are not able to consider you at this time however, your application/interview will be considered for subsequent intakes.

We will be in contact with you again nearer the time."

Could anyone shed light on what this means? If I'm on a reserve list should I remain hopeful or continue to apply for other positions within the company?

I read that as they've filled the initial intake but when the next intake comes along they'll consider you then?

Hopefully I'm successful in the next intake then. I was just confused since it wasn't necessarily a yes or a no.
