Appears that as of July 2009 Watlington still had it's NSE totem

I know this isn't on the Fen Line, but Sandy also still has it's NSE totem (in fact, it has two: one at the top of the station road and one outside the station itself). It's funny that WAGN/FCC had the base painted, but did nothing else with the totem. The 'Sandy' part is looking rather grubby now.

Anywhos... from the pictures earlier in the thread, it it does look pretty neat what they have done. I won't be travelling towards King's Lynn until around late July, but it'll be interesting to see if these 'refurbs' spread among more of the stations along the Fen Line in the mean time.

I believe the Kings Lynn scheme was explicitly stated as being such a refurbishment.

Kings Lynn is a listed building, when FCC installed the ticket gates which they needed planning permission it was agreed the retro refurb as a result

Just reminded me of an incident in the 1980s on a Southend bound train once with a passenger waving an NSE map at a ticket inspector and insisting that it showed where his nice new London travelcard was valid.
