On school days, the 15:55 starts at Highfields school, not Matlock itself, meaning there is no service between 14:30 and 17:00
It also doesn‘t help that the 1606 on the 140 route from Matlock to Alfreton also doesn’t run on school days with no service between 1406 and 1806 on that route.
The 1545 from Highfields school to Alfreton will operate via the A615 to get to Tansley, so can’t see any reason why you can’t board the bus on the A615 at the junction of Butts Road, opposite the Morrison’s Petrol Station, it will probably pick up there around 1556.

This bus stop is about 7/8 minutes level walk from Crown Square roundabout as you walk along Causeway Lane, past the football ground and excellent Red Lion, which brews its own beers and is open all day, every day and probably sells the cheapest real ale in Matlock!
That’s worth knowing about as it’s not too far to walk. That walk is nothing to me but not good for more elderly and less mobile people. I’m sure it wouldn‘t add that many minutes to the timetable to run via the centre of Matlock or perhaps it’s too full of noisy school children and there isn’t the capacity for too many extra passengers.

From 29th October, Stagecoach are making lots of changes in Chesterfield

This include a cull of services in the south west of town, removing some parts of the 2/2A completely and replacing others with modifications to the 5/90 meaning those services are halved in frequency to hourly.

They dare to blame this on poor usage - a bit hard to use buses when they've been regularly cancelled for the last 6 months.
Blimey! That Stagecoach update re the Service 90 has really hurt my head and I might have read it incorrectly but is the no5 actually now running at 62 minutes past the hour, not clock face hourly? Might be wrong on that

Either way it looks like Stagecoach are losing interest West of Chesterfield excluding the no39 route

That's a good spot, I'd not noticed that. It isn't even 2 minutes per hour extra, it varies... I don't know why they couldn't run a variation of the 2 hourly instead, it's one more bus but at least vaguely sensible.

The 90 is an utter farce. Around the time of deregulation, Yew Tree estate had something like 10 buses an hour. Even the existing 2 isn't exactly great provision - we really need a bus to the local doctor for example - but dropping that to 1 is stupid. They could at least have made some allowances to give a half-hourly (or thereabouts) service during the morning and evening peak. Extend the 44 that starts at Barker Lane for example, or adjust the timings of the X17 that starts at Foljambe so it could run up Chatsworth Road then through Walton. Would only need a few minutes extra running time and would be a service people would use - plenty around here work in Sheffield. Several of my wife's colleagues at the Uni live locally but most drive as the buses just aren't there.

What is really annoying is they've not tried to imagine a route network that would serve what people need. There is loads of scope to completely revise provision without increasing the number of buses needed, but they just don't have the imagination to even think about it. All they do is cut and merge to the point where buses just meander around random housing estates without actually serving places people want to go.

Vectare have also won the 9/9A from Diamond in Derby starting 2nd October. Whilst the Saturday service has been dropped the weekday timetable now have earlier and later journey's which start back/continue to Long Eaton, probably acting as positioning moves to the depot.
The service will still operate on Saturdays to the same times, just an error on timetable.

Trent indigo E200 207 caught fire in Beeston earlier this afternoon. Thankfully no injuries. I wonder how quickly it will go to Looms scrapyard.

Given the Indigo E200’s young age I would think it would be repaired if not too badly damaged.

Considering it’s only a 18 plate I would imagine Trent would see how much it would cost to be repaired, if it’s too much it’ll be scrapped.
I would imagine it’s the insurers that would make the decision. But looking at the pictures here and on Twitter, I have to agree with @derbybusdepot and @liamf656

What will replace it in the short/long term and have Trent/Barton got enough buses to cover?

They seem short of buses before this happened.

Scania 669 is being repaired, so should be back. Guess the former threes Versas will start appearing too.

Elderly Solo 462 appears to be back in use at Sutton.

How long do people think 462 will last? Several times it’s been taken out of service, and then surprisingly turns up in service a few months later. Trent’s other 02s have been gone for years, as well as Kinch and n&d ones at this point. Surely the end can’t be far off?

I suspect Wellglade will find it a new home at Halfway soon enough - that’s where most of the old nails seem to end up!

Preservation would be nice though, as it’s the last of the original batch of Solos. If TM were let loose on it, there wouldn’t be anything to save!

I wouldn't think it would go to TM, it's only being kept because it is loved by all the team at Sutton. It'll keep going until a problem occurs which means it can't run anymore, I would imagine.

For 207 specifically I wonder if one of the mango E200's could be branded for the indigo as a replacement.

They’ll probably just always have a mango one allocated to indigo rather than repainting and changing the interior

If the insurers write off the old one, then presumably they'll pay for a new one that can be done out similarly to the others.

TrentBarton will have a non-conventional arrangement I am sure - in other words ‘self insured’. So it’ll be entirely their decision whether to write off or repair.

Yes I remember the X67 After deregulation (1986) it was extended to Liverpool and I think Hulleys of Baslow ran the route jointly with East Midlands ..before it got withdraw I think TM travel was the last operator to run it as I remember getting it from Chesterfield and going to Sparrowpit (Wanted inn) for walking to Edale via Mam Tor

If a Derby to Manchester service operated now, I think it would be very successful, particularly with the never ending rail strikes and cancellations, it would have been the perfect opportunity to get it established and build up patronage. Sadly Trentbarton have neither the vehicles, the drivers or even the will to do such things now.
The company which used to be applauded for it's eagerness to innovate seems to have lost it's way now.

The 58 still runs to Chatsworth. Think it's Sundays only, one trip? Saw it on the return in the middle of summer - totally empty.

I used route 58 on 3 different Sundays when I lived in Macclesfield 10-15 years ago, on 2 occasions for walks based on Bakewell/Monyash and on the third occasion to visit Chatsworth. It was excellent value for money and the journeys were very scenic. The buses were also well used to visit the Peak District/Chatsworth, but it is only to be expected for the return journeys to be empty.

Sorry, for clarity, I meant the afternoon return, which you'd expect to be carrying anyone who used the morning outbound. This was just after Chatsworth so maybe still carried a decent load just not from Chatsworth.
