For some reason NCT are running the 49B/49 today. When the P+R is closed it usually doesn't run aside from the few 49Xs to Boots. Last time this happened it was when the trams are down and I presume to relieve pressure on the 48 up to Electric Avenue

There was also a day this week where all four boards on the 8/9s were ‘unusual’ - 3 Uni 4 omnidekkas and a Yutong E12! Those dreadful Enviro 200 MMCs were more trouble than they were worth!

Lucky they're being replaced in the next couple of months! I really do hope they sell them on as 'young vehicles' at the earliest opportunity rather than keep them.

Buyers are lined up for them and all except 399 will leave the fleet once the E10s are in service. 399 destined to leave when the final batch of electric buses enter service later this year.

NCT usually get rid of non-standard/difficult fleets first even if they’re newer* so I imahgine (read hope) that they’ll be among the first to go with the much better Solo SRs staying until electrification is complete.

(*Thinking back to how the MAN Versa’s went as soon as E200s replaced them, in comparison to say 234(?) the last original optare solo they had, for example)

There will be a bus on display for you to view and get on board. The new buses will soon operate on Green 5, 7, 8, and 9.

Not sure how they can park a bus on Central Avenue without severely disrupting all the other buses.

I wondered if they would make this a "big bang" launch to coincide with the expected reshuffle of the 7, 9 and 9 when Rose Way is finally connected. The new road is physically complete except for some surfacing and removing fences and stacks of materials, but as of yesterday there is no sign of any bus stops beyond the current terminus. So I guess that is still some way off.

According to one.network it's being facilitated by a temporary suspension of the parking bay outside Boots from 06.45 to 13.00

Even so, it will only take someone to park a van rather badly opposite for the whole thing to jam up. I guess they can move the bus if that happens, as long as it's not gridlocked by all the other buses.

I just went past Red Line Yutong E12 202 and it looked like it has had the newer style ‘Stopping’ display retrofitted on the bulkhead behind the driver. These also give the time and interior and exterior temperatures. I guess this work will be done on 201 too if it hasn’t already, bringing them in line with the rest of the electric fleet.

I thought it was only 201 which didn't have it? As that was the first to be made, and when NCT visited they saw it on other buses and asked for it on all buses 202 onwards?
