Becoming rare to find much under £2 for a single anywhere nowadays, other than short hops within a town/city. Operators want to encourage Day/Week tickets wherever possible.
Crikey. Guess you can go fairly far on a £1.50 single on Supertram, should consider myself lucky.

I could be wrong, but I cannot imagine them having new minibuses on order for a relatively last minute decison

EDIT: Where are you looking?

Pink Line 30: City > Jubilee Campus > Wollaton > Bramcote > Wollaton Vale.

A revised timetable is introduced, with the Monday to Saturday daytime service enhanced to every 15 minutes. Additional time has been added to Monday to Friday peak buses towards the City to better reflect the traffic along Wollaton Road and at Crown Island.

Service is converted to midi-buses and will feature audio announcements.

Thats all I can see on about the 30 :?

NCT should have just put the single upto £1.90. Most people would have paid £2 anyway.

Breaking the 'mental' £2 barrier will just encourage people to walk or get the bike. A 17% increase doesn't sound good on paper either.

As for Premiere without them we'd still be travelling to Long Eaton etc via Beeston City Centre and the Chilwell estates. TB didn't send any buses down the Long Eaton corridor before Red5 came along. Why? Because they are a greedy unethical company.

Anyone noticed how little leg room there is on their buses compared to NCT?

They've been handing out cereal bars and juices for a while now (both of which are bad for you by the way). It's a sign of desperation.

They haven't broken the £2 "barrier" though they have reached it.

£2 bus single is no big deal, tram has been £2 for a while.

I'd also just like to confirm at this juncture that the forum's 'ignore list' feature works brilliantly. :)

Because they are a greedy unethical company.

Pull the other one.

I don't particularly like them, but I wouldn't call TB greedy nor unethical, nor will the overwhelming majority of people you randomly survey.

Anyone noticed how little leg room there is on their buses compared to NCT?

So that more people can sit down?

It's a sign of desperation.

I don't think so. There is the practice of "customer retention" which I assume is something you have never heard of looking at this comment.

Another thoroughly balanced and objective view from a someone whose knowledge and insight into transport operating matters is without peer in the whole of this forum

Thank you again - its a pleasure to know that you will continue to gladden us all with your outpourings.

Now go away back to your play pen and enjoy your toy buses - I bet they are all in TB red!

McEwan's 143/144

Ripley/Crich - Ambergate - Belper

From 31/3/14, McEwan's will be taking over these services from Yourbus. There are no timetable changes.

AND

Yourbus 59

Shipley View - Ilkeston - West Hallam - Oakwood - Derby

From 31/3/14, Yourbus will be extensively revising the 59.

From Derby, buses will run at --:35 minutes past each hour, running to the current timetable, arriving into Ilkeston Wharncliffe Road at --:17 minutes past. From here, buses will continue through to Shipley View to cover for the 14 which will no longer serve this area.

Returning from Shipley View at --:27 minutes past each hour, buses run via Bath Street to Wharncliffe Road, departing there at --:42 minutes past. From Wharncliffe Road to Derby, buses follow the current route but to amended times, calling at West Hallam at approximately --:52, and Oakwood at --:12 before arriving into Derby at --:27 minutes past.

(C) Your EMTS

For those that want to know! Interesting change on the 59: I thought it was a council contract route?

The new name for the combined 'xprss' & 'Radcliffe Line' is the 'Rushcliffe Greens' :|

where'd you get that info? No sign on TB website.

IMO, anyone who slags off TB & NCT hasn't used buses elsewhere in the country (or has another agenda). There is a reason why both keep winning awards

Known about 'rushcliffe greens' for a while, just naturally can't think where and when I first heard about it.

Hmmmm :) interesting. Wonder if the pronto changes are anything to do with the fact stagecoach drivers struggle to cover the route in the same time as trent barton? Also, wasn't the connect's route changed only recently?

This.

I'm currently living in a monopoly area for one of the big bus companies, and it really is horrible having to try to get anywhere. They have no reason to bother trying to provide a better service or to innovate at all - there isn't even a PTE to force them to buck their ideas up. I've written three letters of complaint to them so far this year to complain about drivers leaving stops early (in one instance, 6 minutes early), and they've not bothered replying to me once.

It really is a breath of fresh air travelling by public transport when I'm back in Nottingham.

I'd escalate that to the Traffic Commisioner.

IIRC, NCT have/had a target of buses being no more than 1 min early and 5 mins late from each stop. Here in MK I have often (i.e. daily) missed buses because they leave up to 5 mins early

Funny that.

I have no wish to slag them off. They are a good company, but they are far from being perfect or beyond criticism.

+1

I lived in Edinburgh for a few years and it was horrific. So many faults to be found with the main bus company which completely lacked any form of creative innovation, or even a willingness to be 'above average'. PR got better in the last few years but there was times where I'd actually prefer First over this company.

I missed the value of public transport in Notts very much.

10. The Traffic Commissioner’s role includes the following:
· Ensuring that operators meet the window of tolerance which is currently ‘no more
than 1 minute early or 5 minutes late for 95% of the services operated’

If anyone's tolerating regularly not meeting that window I'd mention it to the TC.

To be fair it's only one idiot that's trolling the thread, constantly making ridiculous comments because of the FMs hatred for the company, which are then torn to shreds by other FMs. The other FMs post reasonable comment, & i'm not bothered if any company get's criticised if it's fair criticism.

I agree with that. Both have good points and bad points. Customer Service on board with NCT leaves a lot to be desired.

Customer service at Trent is great, but their choice of vehicles (whilst always pleasant in terms of livery and interior) aren't always the best for the route's demands. Their fares are also quite high.

TB obviously don't care about the Traffic Commissioner or the Traffic Commissioner doesn't care about them because there is no way they hit 95% within 5 minutes late.

They drop buses totally from the timetable if running close to one of the other buses and send the empty bus via a quicker route back to the other terminus in order to get back on time. How can anyone disagree this is unethical?

Their Indigo's run every 5 minutes according to their livery. False advertising should read "upto every 5 minutes".

A legal team prosecution team would have a field day with them.

I don't have a problem with NCT apart from the miserable drivers they are a well oiled machine.

Trent Barton are just rip-off merchants hiding behind pimped out livery and even that is looking very old hat nowadays on many of their buses.

Anyone calling me a troll is either a TB fan boy or an employee. Fact. As is all of the above.

They had a decent service in The Red Arrow but even this has been targeted due to rip-off prices.

There's good reason why they've been taken on twice in recent years by rival companies.

TB buses are covered by real time information so punctuality should be easy to monitor.
