Is there a reason why on the 150 & 156 overhauls, they seem to be repainting everything except the roof? A lot of the units look quite patchy with freshly repainted everything and then the still dirty and rusty roof on the top.

Frankly, what did you expect from Northern?

more because someone’s assessed it as too much investment to put in when they are only going to be here hopefully another 5 more years sadly it’s what the budget for it is not northerns fault directly either unfortunately just the way things in this world work in industry they are doing what they have the money to do to keep a life expired train on the tracks to make sure there is still a train showing up I don’t agree with cutting corners but unfortunately budgets don’t extend to doing a full job especially as their due their scrapping in less than a decades time as bad as people feel about some of the class 150s they have outlived their design expectancy regardless of how much work has to be put in now I personally think that’s impressive image if car owners were able to do the same blimey that in its self would cut a carbon footprint down a lot because you would just be selling the consumables and the engine replacements. I truly believe if we now with modern manufacturing standards of materials with rolling stock modern well built stock aside from computerised electronics will do well most of the issues now are down to computer faults and design elements. Class 195 loved or hated so much computerised faults more than mechanical aside from the gearbox and yaw damper but yet again they are generally well built in some respect the grange over sands derailment which was extremely local to me proved that they definitely bodyshell wise were somewhat well built apologies to admin if this is too long and not appropriate for the thread will remove at request if necessary

Sunday 26th July Northern class 150/1 transfer moves

5Z51 13:15pm Newton Heath TMD - Neville Hill TMD is formed of 150101 and 150144

5Z52 15:44pm Neville Hill TMD - Newton Heath TMD formed of 150150 and 150204

150150 is probably a mistake on the other hand it’s not been out for a week so possibly needs something doing at Newton Heath TMD . I doubt it but it’s possible

There is also a 5N42 move from Neville Hill TMD - Crewe C.S - it departs at 10am should it run

Above allocations correct at 02:30am and can change

Probably a 158 if it runs to Crewe.

Am I right in saying 150224, 150275 & 150276 are the remaining 150/2s at Neville Hill, assuming 150204 goes to Newton Heath today?
150274 is also at Neville Hill alongside those three.

150222 is at Wolverton, and has been since January, so neither depot. I assume it'll go to Newton Heath once ready but that'll probably be quite a while yet.

Thanks - I though 150274 had already gone to Newton Heath, I must have misremembered!

Rumours are that 150150 has gone back to Newton Heath to receive a celebratory livery /vinyl for Newton Heaths 150th birthday don’t shoot the messenger if it’s not the case but it makes sense

Was thinking wonder if they will get half branded as the base is white and Union Jack up the bit that is blue on the ends
It'll just be a "Great British Railways | Northern" text on the side, nothing more than that.

Certain units will get the full livery.

Surely that would mean it stays west for a while? Would be odd to have a unit celebrating a depot in Manchester running around Yorkshire, no?

Was 5E17 Crewe CS to Neville Hill formed of 158908 yesterday, why is 158910 returning to Crewe CS.
It was the first unit through C6 and there are some modifications and underframe repairs still to do as the parts/machinery wasn't available at the first point of calling.
They’ll be getting GBR branding soon enough. (Not the full livery, just logos).
No current plans, just the 158/9's are supposed to get some sort of vinyl wrap possibly early next year.

Anyone know what the 5Z51 from Newton Heath to Bletchley on Saturday night is likely to be for. Looks like it's booked for a Railadventure transfer (possibly the hst's)

Those runs are usually one of the LNR 150s returning from maintenance. They go to Newton Heath every now and then.
