AFAIK, 150001 anf 150002 are staying with GWR

As already mentioned the plan is for them to remain with GWR until the current franchise ends but Northern agreed a deal with Angel to lease ALL their 150s (but not all Porterbrook's ones) and have included them all in their December 19 train plan.

319363 is in the off white / very light grey livery with the blue doors. Arrived back from Wolverton on Saturday, 25th March and was in service on the Monday, 27th.

Thanks Doug, appreciate that. :)

Other reports have suggested the seat with the most padding won the public vote and the ironing board lost but they are going for the other option with a little bit of extra padding so there's more leg room than if they had gone for the most popular option.

Where are these other reports? The Modern Railways report turned out to be just a brief, disparaging comment. Any further word on the seat situation?

150275 was out on Chester services. Compared to the untouched versions it seems a lot brighter and fresher. Was better than it looked on the pictures but still got that awful layout internally.

Either the 365s or 379s would be my pick, I'd probably go for the latter personally because they're more modern and will last a lot longer than the 365s.

Even so, I think it's unlikely the 319s will be replaced before the mid to late 2020s, probably during the next franchise.

While some additional stock is certainly a possibility somewhere down the road, 319s leaving seems rather unlikely.

Maybe they could replace the straight electric 319s with redundant EMUs from elsewhere, but keep the 319 FLEX bi-mode conversions. I doubt it would be so easy to convert more recent stock.

More modern stock which has the wiring for shoegear like the 319s should in theory be just as suitable for bi-mode conversion as the 319s. Though until the first 319flex is ready, we don't really know how well the concept will work at all. In fact, any aluminium bodied units might be more suitable due to being lighter, providing the structure can support the weight of the gensets and fuel tanks.

I think the idea of loads of different types of EMU's being converted to Bi-modes is somewhat fanciful, I suspect the development costs for the 319 flex are substancial and finding space to fit engines underneath more modern units may be more difficult compared to the 319 where the majority of the equipment is in 1 carriage.

There's a bit in the April issue of today's railways.
To summarize:-
*Angel owned 150/2 at Wabtec Doncaster of universal access toilets, also work started on 150/1's which are not compliant.
*Regional director said in Feb the first 158 752 had fallen below expectations and some changes would be made particularly with the upholstery compromising legrokm.
*The first 155 346 is expected back from Brodie Kilmarnock soon having been there since 30 April 2016.

Let's hope the previous cramped seating policy has moved on.

Getting out from the window seat on a three across airline row with two people sat beside you must be fun!
