Quite. But some of the ones confirmed as being fitted with engines are too.
Only the one - 319450.

Currently on the centre car of 752. Quite impressed with the recushioned seats, nice and firm. The interior decor is nice and bright, though it does seem rather clinical. The painted seat backs look a bit tacky and cheap to me, too.
150275 is on its way back to Newton Heath from Kilmarnock this evening.
Sat outside Newton Heath tonight, spotted it as we went past a few minutes ago.
I was quite impressed with the refresh too, although I'm saving my full judgement for when we're told "this is the finished product".
The only thing which disappoints me is only three units have been refreshed in the past ten months. However, I'm guessing the arrival of some of the new and cascaded trains next year will speed up the fleet refresh process, because in theory there will be more spare units available.
Finally managed to grab a ride on 156752 on service 2U30 (Leeds to Manchester Vic) I rode Rochdale to Manchester. The seats are so very comfy and the inside is so very bright. Shame the Train FX system wasn't working with it showing just a blue screen internally.

That livery is growing on me a little just a shame so much white and the 'N' randomly colored and placed look odd... although the overall logo is much better than the previous one
Will GMPTE make its presence felt on Manchester area trains again like the West Midlands PTE plan to? I remember 323s in an orange livey
Any thoughts as to how the white livery could be improved? Perhaps blue at each coach end ?
Regarding the 158s surprised the opportunity wasn't taken to give an EMT style refurbishment that would deal with the overcrowding problems prevalent with these trains
Saw earlier that 319450 has returned to Allerton from Wolverton in a white base & blue doors - the first refurbed to "new Northern" spec ?
Isn't white base and blue doors Thameslink?
Not at Allerton depot it wouldn't be!
... why not? Northern have some Thameslink liveried 319s.
I can't be bothered to look through Google Images to check if 450 is actually one of them, but they've got 424 and that definitely is:

I think it recieved its white livery sometime in 2015.
The only Thameslink liveried 319s at Allerton are 319218 and 319219.

Only one, as childwallblues said. 319424/431/434/442/448/456/458 are at Wolverton.
The best way to improve the livery would be to get rid of the multicoloured logos which look like the most "toytown" thing on rails since the Coronation Street tram crash!
As for your last point, the EMT refurbishment of 158s reduced the number of tables which to me would be a backwards step, crowding or not.
Today's trains out at External companies
156471 at Arriva Traincare Crewe
319361, 319362 and 323236 at KBRS Wolverton
156479 at KBRS Springburn
144020 is at Heaton for heavy exam
155346 and 158753 at Brodies Kilmarnock
150137 and 150223 are at Wabtec Doncaster
First listed on the stop list on 16/02/17 but listed as 11/02/17 as actual stop date

A minor point, but the only orange GMPTE stock was the first fourteen class 142 Pacers. The 323s carried the later, Regional Railways era GMPTE 'Executive' scheme of dark grey, white and red which was much more widely applied. Will GMPTE make its presence felt on Manchester area trains again like the West Midlands PTE plan to? I'm not aware of any desire from TfGM to develop an area specific livery as per the West Midlands Rail scheme.
I can't see there being PTE liveries again in the North now that Rail North has been formed (with the exception of Merseyrail, Tyne & Wear Metro and Metrolink.)
When Southport services were first sent to Piccadilly they continued to Chester via Stockport and it was common to see Merseytravel liveried 150s on the service despite it running a far greater distance in Greater Manchester than Merseyside. Also having trains which looked almost identical to ones which ran via the Mersey tunnels having a destination in Merseyside on the front of them caused a bit of confusion at Chester!
The 142s were the only 2nd generation units that carried GMPTE orange, but not the only units overall- a few 303s were given the orange colour scheme when they were used on Glossop/Hadfield services in the late 1980s and early 1990s. 304s and 305s may have also carried the livery, 305s definitely carried the later GMPTE colours. 504s on the Bury line also carried the orange scheme.
Ah yes, I completely forgot about the older EMUs.The 142s were the only 2nd generation units that carried GMPTE orange, but not the only units overall- a few 303s were given the orange colour scheme when they were used on Glossop/Hadfield services in the late 1980s and early 1990s. 504s on the Bury line also carried the orange scheme.
304s didn't get the orange livery. They stayed blue/grey until the end except for 4 sets (I think) that got standard Regional Railways livery late on.
