I have passed all assessments and MMI with another TOC. Did your status change on the DB site before they contacted you?

I’m in the same boat too....passed assessments and MMI already, but no change to anything on my application status

I received the infamous "thanks but no thanks email" today. I've tried quite a few times with Northern but can't seem to get past the paper sift, I think my office job seems to rule me out despite having a private pilots licence which surely shows an ability to operate in a safety critical environment.

I'll throw my hat in next time though 8-)

I’d confidently say that pretty much no job rules you out of a paper sift. On driver courses at the minute are ex office workers, truck drivers, IT workers, all sorts.

I’ve never done anything to do with safety critical work and I got the first trainee driver job I applied for - I made sure my application highlighted that I have the skills they were specifically asking for in the job description, it doesn’t matter whether they’re from work or elsewhere.

I have an interview on Wednesday for Manchester Piccadilly. I've already passed the psychometric tests recently with a Freightliner application, so just got the DMI to do. Has anybody got any advice on the Northern DMI interview?

Did you get a phone call about that?
I’m in exactly the same boat but my application status hasn’t changed.

I attached an extra form/letter to my app saying I had passed all the OPC assessments

No just received an email inviting me to an interview next week. I put on the end of my covering letter about the OPC stuff.

I've still not had any emails at all about Manchester Picadilly or Victoria and on dB website they both just say application received.

Hi, I passed an interview for Blackpool around 6 months ago and sat the assessments 5 months ago unfortunately I messed up on one assessment.

I’ve re-applied to Blackpool in December and have now been informed I have an interview on Monday 4th feb. I can’t re sit the assessments until April tho (6 month wait).

Does anyone know if my previous interview for Blackpool less than 6 months ago would not still be valid for this one? And could just wait to re sit the assessment I failed on?

Thanks
Jon

I’ve called them as it’s confusing as on my log on page it says “assessment” stage. They’ve said my last interview is now invalid and to turn up on Monday so I best get revising.

Thanks
Jon

Applied for Manchester Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly trainee driver back in December. Received email 1st February with interview this Thursday, no online assessment, straight to structured interview. If successful at 1st interview stage a date will be provided for the Train Driver psychometric assessment. Wish me luck. Let the research begin............DB website says Victoria = Assessment / Piccadilly = Application in progress.

Exactly the same for me so interview this week for Victoria before any assessments/tests, only got the email this morning so really short notice.

Do you think they interview and then consider you for both Victoria and Piccadilly if you applied for both?

Will have a good read through posts on here this evening for any info on the interview this week, guessing it will be the competency based questions.

Best of luck to anyone else having interviews

Had my interview today, applied in December for Victoria and Piccadilly, had passed all assessment with another TOC. Received a phone call on Monday inviting me for an interview. Just a waiting game now.
Hope you don't mind me asking, how did you find the interview?

Got an email this morning inviting me for an interview this week which surprised me as not done any assessments, very little time to prepare for it but will give it my best shot

Hi, my interview was just right. Got the questions I expected to be asked, though only had 2 days to prepare. I feel I did fine, you csn never be sure with interviews.

Seems victoria do the interviews first....I thought my interview went great until i got the email saying not successful. You can't tell.

I wonder if they have to pick % out...or do they simply look for a threshold? Even if no one passes?
