As far as I'm aware London Midland don't have any Class 158 carriages.
GWR are the only operator with a single Class 158 centre carriage, maybe he meant that?

No. LM don't have any 158s. The odd GWR 158 vehicle is not the centre car in the 3 Car formations. A number of 2 Car 158s were split and the carriages bolted on the end of other 2 Car 158s to form 3 Car formations, not placed in the middle. GWR have one proper 3 Car unit, 158798.
"a single Class 158 centre carriage"
I know.

What is not odd about the UK 'privately run' rail system. The system today costs the taxpayer more than it did under BR in its finals years. Nothing seems to make sense within the system these days.
It is in service most days. 448 is not yet in service.
Yes it has been out in service all week.
319364 is now back in service after mods.
According to Wikipedia, Northern will only have 319/3 and 319/4 but not 319/2.
319448 was on the 11:40 Man Airport to Liv Lime St today. I was on the 12:40 and that was 319450 which still had its Thameslink first class seats and covers. I also noticed that this unit had a disabled toilet unlike other Northern 319s that have two small toilets opposite each other.
As far as I'm aware all the units in white have had their two existing toilets removed and replaced by a single 'accessible' one - certainly, all those I have seen have.
Having spent time in Bristol last week and rode on one of Northern's incoming 150/1, it got me thinking.
Which depots are getting what stock when it starts to be cascaded or the new trains built?
Northern have 3 depots that have pacers what will replace them?
The new EMU's are going to operate both East and West of the pennines, are the new 331's going to be spit between depots or loco hauled between depots?
170s will work Leeds-Dewsbury-Southport and Leeds-Harrogate-York which suggests they'll be based at Neville Hill, with possibly a couple of sets stabled in the North West overnight - maybe Wigan sidings?
I'd be surprised if some 150s aren't based in Yorkshire after the extra ones arrive.

Northern have five depots you forgot Longsight where the 323's are based.Northern actually has four depots - Heaton, Neville Hill, Newton Heath and Allerton.
From what I have been told by a reliable source the diesel units will be based at Newton Heath and the electric units at Allerton.

Of the five depots pacers are ONLY allocated to THREE of them. HT, NH and NL.
AN and LG do not have pacers
Longsight is an Alstom depot where 17 x 323s are homed alongside many Virgin units.

There will of course be the new Blackburn Depot in due course.
