And as pointed out, the driver diagrams / depot establishments are yet to be confirmed, was due to be today but some depots might only be done by weekend.

True, but not every course has 12 when initially planned. All names except one on the June course are now confirmed as far as I know. There will also be a course at Bolton starting late July.

Hi Llama, when you say confirmed, does this mean they've been informed too ? I wonder who'll get the last golden ticket

Be nice to recieve an update with something on, my wife's due to give birth in August. Don't know how we'd work around that ! That said everyone's got plans of some sort ! Thing is I doubt phoning up and venting our frustrations would get us on a course anytime soon.

Just gotta sit back and pray we receive something, sometime, soon.

Think it's time to sit back and sit tight gonna be a long haul I think, but we could be in a worse situation, we could have failed and had to wait 6 months then no recruitment , worse case is that we have to re sit the DM interview that's all :D

Hi everyone, been watching this thread with great interest as I've passed all the driver assessments for the Wigan depot and been waiting that elusive phone call, it seems that things appear to be moving, but I find it strange that posts are being made stating courses have been allocated, yet not one person on here has been given one? Anyone shed any light on this? Are all the lucky ones internal? Cheers

The majority of the candidates on each course this year so far (including June) have been external. This is the norm.

The ones that I know of on the June course are internals. Like has been said previously, there is a planned course beginning late July, but as you all know these things can change.

Railway recruitment has always been the same, when I was in the same boat over a decade ago it all seemed to be going very quickly - interview & psychometrics within weeks of applying, passed both, then six months of waiting (though the phrase 'talent pool' had yet to be invented then) and then all of a sudden a mad rush, ie a random phone call on a Thurs afternoon: 'we need you for a medical on Monday to start training in a few weeks'.

That bucks the trend then. The ratio is usually along the lines of say three external for every one internal, but varies. I do know there were a few guards on the April course. Only one name I recognise on the June course so far.
