150274 has had GSM-R equipment fitted, although the actual radios have been removed for now.

GSM-R radio is the replacement for NRN/CSR and is currently on trial in the Strathclyde region using ScR class 320s (156s are being added) and some EWS 66 & 67 locomotives. So far in Northerns fleet 153307 & 150274 have had the equipment added but until lineside infrastructure is in place the radio heads have been removed for the time being, more units are to follow as they pass through works. It will not make the trains go any faster it is designed as a way of improving communication links between traincrew & Signalboxes or Network Rail control.

As mentioned in another thread GSM-R is due to take over fully in 2012.

When it comes to the Refreshment namely of theese particular 150s 268/269/270/271/272/273/275/276,

Why have they started with 274 and not 268 for instance ?

Have their been any 142's ex ATN ones done yet. At the minute we have 1 maybe 2 ex FNW livery sets up in Newcastle. Maybe their trying to work out how that type of seating goes down up here before doing the ex ATN in that style.

I think they are concentrating on painting all the ex ATN 142s befre refreshment is done as 142071 has been up here since repainted and no interanl refrsh hasb een done this could be the first to be done.

might be coinsidence, like reliverying of 222s started with 222017 and ended with some toehr random unit

Why does it matter what number it is?

Most people using it wont have a clue what the number means anyway, really only any enthusiasts will know, and the chances are they'll know its just that one that's been done.
Maybe it was just the first one they picked, maybe it was one they didn't need or one they thought needed it most. Could be almost any reason, tbh.

They're most likely being done as and when they need other attention, pretty much like Stagecoach do with their buses,

eg. Lancaster Trident 17020 received retrimmed seats while being repaired after an accident, but 17017 hasnot been done yet.

150274 was done first most likely because it was the next one due to be stopped for works attention. They dont follow each other around in numerical order nor do they follow each other around on the maintenance cycle.
