Past experience tells me there's a 1/3 chance of the meeting being cancelled.

If we shell out for peak tickets to Bolton, I wonder if we'll be refunded if the manager doesn't turn up?

If the manager had turned up, could always blame DFT and TPE been blamed for taking well used services away from Bolton following the introduction of 350s and the re-routing.

They're at it again, this time Leyland on Friday between 4 & 6pm, incidentally did anyone see if the manager was at Bolton?

Where do they come up with the places to do it? I appreciate it's about meeting a station manager but Swinton? They would get far more feedback from sending someone to say Doncaster (EC) or Sheffield (EMT), surely if the idea is about 'showing face' they'd go to reasonably important stations?

Indeed, I can't for the life of me understand why they've chosen Wilmslow over Manchester. More people would be able to stop by on their way to work. Whereas having it in Wilmslow is out of the way for the masses.

Station manager has more time on their hands at rural stations? Or perhaps its just community outlook seeking opinions away from metropolitan areas.

A chance to claim they're connecting with their customers but at the same time avoiding the brunt of the criticism?

If they did show which is unlikely, I bet most staff and punters would like to 'connect' with them. :)

Quite! I think PF helped somewhat in bringing about these meetings, myself and a few others I know have quite a few things to take Northern to task on (their CR dep aren't too useful) and they felt the best way would be to meet a manager face to face.

I wonder if they've ever received positive feedback at MTMs?

What I have found in my experience when doing them at terminals is that you will more than likely be engaging with people who have a much more regular service than those who dont who wont really be able to stop and chat and speak to you.

By at least going to stations that may not have such a frequent service but still have high passenger numbers you are much more likely to be able to engage with them and let them know that they are not forgotten about - as lots of pax think they do at such stations.
