Hi all!

I recently applied with Northern for their customer Service Controller vacancy but was unsuccessful.. they did however offer me a chance to attend their assessment day for another vacancy they have for a Customer Information Controller.
I have said yes to this as after reading the job description it seems like a good starter role in control, as I do not have any experience in control I now can see the Customer Service Controller role was a bit too advanced for me, which is okay!

My question is, has anyone gone through the assessment day for this type of role and can you tell me what it entails so I can prepare properly for it?
Also are there any interview tips/advice that you can give aswell incase I make it to that stage of the interview process?

Thank you!!

Did you have an assessment day for the Service Controller role? If so, I imagine the core content will be very similar.

No the service controller was a straight rejection after the closing date

As I am an internal candidate, I will have to have a telephone interview type thing before the assessment day

No the service controller was a straight rejection after the closing date, here’s how the email was worded..

I applied for this role back in January, and my telephone interview went very well. Unfortunately they didn't progress my application any further at the time... however I recently got a surprise email from Northern Recruitment asking me to attend an Assessment Day in Manchester on 12th May, which I am doing. I have never done an Assessment Day for any jobs in Control before, so this will be all new to me!

Ahh, are you an internal or external candidate may I ask?
I wish you the best of luck for your assessment day!
