Riiight! That's a lot. With the constraints of Welwyn, you can really only hope for 4 tph on the ECML. Is there really capacity for 16 tph on the MML?
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Is the junction at St Pancras (International junction?) "flat" or "flying"? As far as I'm aware the one at the end of the link at the GN (Copenhagen junction?) is due to be "flat"?

It's definitely going to be grade-separated at St P, and underground. The junction at Belle Isle might be flat, but it links to the Copenhagen flyover. However, I've heard suggestions that they might reopen the old bores of the tunnels to divert some suburban traffic into them without overloading the fast lines.

It's 8 tph planned for Thameslink from the ECML in the peaks - it's only the individual origins that haven't been decided yet.

This is from the current ECML RUS, discussing outer suburban services:

...In the short-term the RUS recommends
progressive lengthening of these to 12 cars
as growth occurs. From December 2015 eight
12-car tph could operate via the Thameslink
corridor and, with two other 12 car tph still
running to/from King’s Cross, this gives a 50
percent increase in capacity in 2016. A further
increase of four 12-car trains to/from King’s
Cross in each peak hour would mean 168
vehicles could be operating per peak hour
north of King’s Cross by 2036, giving a 110
percent increase in capacity. The combination
of six tph to/from King’s Cross and eight to/
from the Thameslink route would still release
four train paths per hour to/from King’s Cross
station itself compared with today.

I would have thought that rail projects are likely to be fairly safe
Oh to be an optimist, rail projects are one of the first things to get cut back.
- although if the projects have overspent, that's a whole different matter. Mind you, wouldn't that mean heads should roll for not keeping a tighter reign on things?

And half their bonuses as well, that will teach em ;)

Now that there has been a change of Government that might not be long in happening.

The relationship between Labour and certain key people in Network Rail was far too cosy, and that fact is already known to the right people.

I think you will see a calling to account in due course.

Cross-Rail will probably go ahead now, why do you think Liebore were so keen to get all the contracts let as quickly as possible?
I feel it is so now they are in opposition (and long may they remain there) Liebore will moan about all the cutbacks elsewhere while the Tories try to repair the damage done to this Countries economy and International reputation.
IF Cross-Rail is cancelled Liebore will moan about the costs to the poor old tax-payer of paying out the compensation clauses built into the contracts by Liebore so their mates would make a fortune for doing nothing.
Liebore did NOT have the best interests of the Country at their hearts and were only interested in lining their own pockets (and their mates pockets), also paying lazy twits to sit at home claiming benefits knowing these people would vote Liebore.
If OUR gold had not been sold off we would be long out of this recession by now (may not have even gone into one) in the first place.

Oldies like me can remember the last time Liebore were in and history has just repeated itself, Liebore screw the Country up and walk away (with thousands in their own bank accounts) and the incoming Tory government (with a bit of help this time around) have to fix it!

One quick fix for immigration would be to make our rules the same as France or Spain, that way there is no reason for lazy twits to come over here just to be given housing and benefits and genuine workers would be allowed in IF needed.
While this Country pays out millions of pounds to everybody elses deadwood we will not recover, hell we have enough of our own, and it needs to be stopped once and for all. Genuine asylum seekers claim it as soon as they land (in the first neutral Country), once here illegally they should forfeit the right to claim asylum when caught and should be sent back (or locked in detention centres).
Now watch all the bleeding hearts come out the woodwork!

Has this thread diverted from the North London Line to the Midland Main Line and the East Coast Main Line?

Camden - Stratford on the North London Line reopened today. Anyone checked to see what has changed? Has Highbury opened properly?

I read in the Evening Standard that estate agents are saying there's now huge demand in and around the areas served by the new East London Line.

What I can't get is that surely people knew this was being built? Why wait until it opens to decide to buy property near one of the new stations and pay an inflated price?

Sorry it's off topic, but I thought it was funny. I know it's also more relevant to the East London Line thread, but perhaps the same will happen when the line links up to the NLL at Highbury.

There may be a gulf between what the Estate Agents are saying (to help drive prices, and thus commission, up) and what the reality is.

Goody! I have an alternative route so I can avoid the Northern Line if need be. I will see today when I head home.

Didn't get on unfortunately, trains were being cancelled as I arrived at Camden Road, so I decided to get the Northern Line home instead.

I was on early shift yesterday so i was unaware of anything, however on reading the national Rail and TFL travel updates today it appears some overhead wire damage betweeen Gospel Oak and Willesden Junction has occured and the service is down the pan.

TFL have given confussed messages on their website (for a start stating that services from Stratford start from the low level platforms!) Whereas the National rail website have given a some details and the type of service running.
