Hi All,
as the title says, this is my first post on here but I have used the site to gain valuable info and tips during my recent application for a ticket examiner with FirstScotrail.
End result is that I now have my offer of contract and start date for my new post, one which I am most certainly taking up, can't wait.
I applied away back on the 9th of march for this post and thought I had missed out on several occasions, it seemed to take ages for any feedback on my original application as to whether I had made it to the next stage of the on line test, so much so that I had given up any hope.
Then, weeks later I received an email for the said test and duly completed it, only to wait an eternity to find out if I had passed or not.
Here we go again, the waiting and wondering scenario, then I received an email telling me I had an interview, yipee, went for that and got word by phone call that I had been offered a conditional position based on medical.
Once again I was back in the waiting game, pondering whether there was anything that could possibly show up and deny me this opportunity, two weeks after medical ( which seemed an eternity ) I finaly received my letter with offer of contract, it has been a long drawn out affair, but if any of you are going through the selection process at the moment and haven't heard any feedback recently, don't despair, the railway seems to take a while with the recruitment process.
Sorry if this was long winded, but I know how I have despaired and thought my chance was gone due to the time lapse, but there you go, all has ended well and I can't wait to start.
cheers.
