I don't know what's prompted you to confidently declare it was indeed the first working when it wasn't.
The 1040 Hereford Birmingham actually formed off the 0850 Birmingham Hereford, which in turn formed off the 0711 Hereford Birmingham.

720 127 and 720 129 were both reported in service today 5th June - separately - in posts on se-gen.

Update on the FOI request. I am puzzled as it basically says that the service introduction pause is not linked to any defects on the 197 leading to acceptance pause, nor conflict with maintenance space problem withe existing class 175....

Not sure when exactly it entered service, but I got 230009 when I went to ride it from Wrexham to Bidston at 6/6/2023 after it came from Bidston around half an hour late. Because of the delay, it actually ran non-stop to Bidston after Wrexham General.

Apparently though it got swapped very early - not sure if it even did its first service other than ECS.

Front list not updated I'm afraid as haven't had the time.
Have updated the blog for deliveries from June 23 https://brandnewtrainblog.blogspot.com/ but not had time to keep the 1st dates in service stuff updated I'm afraid.
If anyone can do so(or the MODS can transfer the thread over to them- please feel free).
