777001 and 777003 operated their first services on the Kirkby line today. 777008 failed and was replaced by 777001 at Sandhills on 2K32 1435 Liverpool Central - Kirkby. 777001 later failed at 1610 at Moorfields and was terminated at Sandhills, being replaced by 777003 at Kirkby on 2G62 1713 Kirkby to Liverpool Central.

A heads-up here. It looks as if West Midlands Railway will soon get some more 196s in service: their website informs that the May 2023 TT changes will see the introduction of Class 196 units between Leamington Spa and Nuneaton, via. Coventry.

New Class 196 trains will be introduced to this line from May 2023 onwards
