I am still waiting for the first report of an FGW Advance being printed in new format.

there is a small overlap on the railcard text which looks like it should be easy to move, but overall the print is extremely clear and I like the new tickets a lot.
Well I have been thinking that for months and guess what has happened so far?![]()

One thing I've thought about with this ticket redesign is that with the exception of this forum, I've not seen any promotion that the ticket design is changing.
Now, I haven't necessarily looked anywhere, but will any other non-railway people look anywhere? If they're not expecting the design of their tickets to change, why will they? How much - if any - confusion has there been as a result of this change?
Of course, I will readily stand corrected if there has been promotion that I've missed!
You get a lot of confused and uncertain people the first couple of days after a machine goes over to the new style. Lots of people presenting receipts instead of tickets too, as they look very similar now.
If there was any sense they would print the receipts on a different stock like they do on the S+B machines on the Tyne and Wear Metro - or on a receipt roll like the Shere machines do...
Gatwick Express TVMs issuing walk-up tickets in new style
TfL rail are issuing them, my views are a bit mixed.
Someone will be along shortly to point out that Gatwick Express isn't a TOC and doesn't have any ticket machines.

No-one pointed that out for Southern or Thameslink when they were mentioned before, who also aren't TOCs...
