I was going to check it out this morning, although the complete lack of fares information on NRE made me think it hadn't opened, so I didn't bother

Fairly quiet morning after the media/photographers had left although the car park looked about 50% occupied this afternoon.

Only a couple of people got on on the peak service I was on this morning, but quite a few got off this evening on the way home.

Considering many people won't be aware it has opened, it was a promising start and will no doubt start to get a lot busier.

I wonder if this will complement Chorley's station, same number of users but balancing passenger figures between the two stations; or just be additional passengers. If it's the latter the peak services are already full and standing by the time they reach Blackrod, this will be interesting.

Not used it yet but it seems Buckshaw has taken to the railway map to the manor born...

The following photos are from my visit yesterday morning. There are a few things of note beforehand:

• I stayed for about 35 minutes. One other person got off the train I got off on, about 4 got on.
• There was a bloke asking something in the booking office at one point, but he didn't use the station as such.
• One person as well as myself joined my train back - no-one got off.
• There are automated announcements, quite possibly the loudest I have ever heard: you could hear them with ease from say the car park or approach road. Luckily there are no security announcements!

The above was noted between 0830 and 0905 on a Saturday morning, so I can't comment on the rest of the time.

The 18:08 TPE departure from Preston when I was on it last week did not call at Buckshaw Parkway despite it being advertised in the new timetable as stopping there. Neither did the display screens or announcements at Preston mentioned Buckshaw Parkway. When the train went through Buckshaw Parkway there was no-one on either platform, despite the 17:56 Northern service for Manchester Vic being delayed and not being allowed to leave Preston before the TPE service.

The TPE services don't start calling until 17 October. As far as I'm aware no TPE services have called there yet.

The 18:08 from Preston has a * next to its advertised Buckshaw time indicating it as unconfirmed at time of printing.

Passenger traffic at Buckshaw has been steady and while it isn't the busiest station in Lancashire at the moment the passenger numbers do seem to be increasing as each day goes by. The car park looks a little fuller too.

The link snail posted further up to a pdf on TPE's website says 3rd October which is why I commented.
