They took the Langley Mill stops out of the Norwich-Liverpools when the Northern service started, so I doubt they would want to add an Ilkeston stop.

Langley Mill is a relatively small place with a limited catchment.
Ilkeston is the third biggest town in Derbyshire & if it is well used it might warrant the extra calling trains. Ilkeston station is certainly closer to the town centre than Alfreton railway station is!

Ilkeston Rail Station

Work is currently under way to build a new station on the Erewash Line in Ilkeston, in between Coronation Road and Millership Way.

The station will feature two platforms and a car park situated close by, with dedicated cycle spaces and wheelchair accessibility throughout.

This development will enable journeys from Ilkeston to Nottingham in just over ten minutes, Chesterfield in just over twenty minutes, and Sheffield in under forty minutes.

The station is expected to be fully functional by December 2014.

Oh and actually, having passed it this week very very little is happening. According to yesterdays Ilkeston Advertiser work starts properly in June. All that someone has done in the last month is put up a fence between the southbound freight and the brook (which isn't shown on any plans - did someone forget it was there ;) )
