TBH I don't think they'd care.
Every petition so far has resulted in "we're right and you're wrong" from the govt.

Same if a someone is near a crossing - one low tone initially but 2 tone if someone is spotted.
It was bad when they stopped doing it in and out of tunnels.
I still blast the horn as I enter and before I leave a tunnel, on the simulator anyway.
In terms of real life, I was at a friends house near a railway line last weekend, and two trains passed in the time I was there. There is a Whistle Board at this location......
The first was a Class 158 (), and the driver used both tones. Low - High.
The second was a Class 156, but the driver only used the low tone.
158s have got a better horn anyway, but even so, the warning from the 156 wasn't really much good. It sounded weak and muffled.
Obviously it's the drivers choice (ish) how to use the horn, but I'd use both tones anyway, possibly even three tones (High Low High etc) just to take the mick!![]()
I personally always blast the horn at least two times (normaly high-low)
As for the 156 horn- I've always thought that they were quite weak, but i thought it was just me..
