A selection of new electric cars at an obviously electric car event on Weymouth seafront, there was at least one BYD that turned up as I was leaving and very interestingly a Swiss registered LHD Mazda.
Some Deepal's, electric Frontera, Honda E:NY 1, Micra electric and a couple of electric Ford's.

Spotted my first Renault 4 EV out in the wild this morning.

Pretty nice, though not as nice as the 5...

Gosh they are two a penny round here, and R5s are 6 a penny.

Meanwhile I saw a sporty EV that I couldnt tell what it was this evening. An MG Cyberster.

Attached is a picture of a DAF electric truck delivering to M&S in Weymouth, my first electric truck spot.

Also out of a bus window my first Chery. Alas no picture of that.

Did it look a bit like this*? I had the (dis)pleasure or driving one of these for a week in Italy recently. It was awful - especially for mountain passes.

*This one is actually a dr 6.0 (yes, I'd never heard of them either!). It's apparently an Italian rebadge of a Chery Tiggo 7.

'76' day yesterday. Only seen one new reg, an Enterprise van hire Transit.

The Prelude looks a good car apart from the choice of colours, which is really poor. Honda dealerships are also a rapidly disppearing breed. We had two locally, both have now gone so its a 30 mile round trip.

Saw a 76 plate car in Chelmsford earlier, some sort of black SUV on a driveway from the road between the city centre & the Springfield area.

Just seen a brand new micro-Honda EV, looks like nothing I’ve seen before! Honda Super-N.

Which reminds me; I’ve seen around 25 x 76 plates on the road so far this month, and every one of them is engine-absent. Which is slightly annoying, as it means I can’t catch out forum readers who are fans of old DC electric locomtives with an updated version of my (nearly) annual “What happened to the 71s / 73s / 74s / 75s” thread.

Two days ago, I saw a 2026 model Honda Prelude. Its owner didn't want me to photo it; but, my goodness, what a glorious looker.
I am old enough to remember Honda's five previous Prelude incarnations...
My current car is a 22 year old mk7 Honda Accord, they are up to the mark 11 now, and that's been out for a few years. I sort of remember them all...

Another Honda super N.

Like many EVs I don't expect to see another anytime soon.

Two 76 plates today, in Malvern. An Isuzu D-max and one of the Jaecoo variants. Both with engines (though the Jaecoo is probably hybrid)

And an electric Ford Transit in Birmingham

In the last 24 hours I have seen 3 x Nissan Micra EVs, a car I didn’t know existed (until the first one), and one which must be hateful to drive.

based on a Renault 5, and slightly cheaper!

I’d happily spend a lot more on the 5!

So here we are, the end of month 1 of the 76 plates. I’m now seeing about 3-5 “76s” a day and am well over 50 now; as it happens this has been all over the country as I have been travelling a lot this month.

Latest newbie was a 76 Lotus Emeya about an hour ago, which looked menacingly fabulous. No green flash on the plates, as has been the case with about 10-20% of the 76s I’ve seen, however every single one of them was an EV.

I’m sure the SMMT numbers issued next week will show that well over half of the registered 76s have engines, but none of those I’ve seen have!
