Just wondering if anyone else had had any dealings with Network Rail HR and particularly their careers website. Its a little bizarre, not to go too deep but it seems to ask you to do things in a topsy turvy manor. I have been on tonight, had to download n fill out a word document (which had the signaller section missing but the maintenance worker section on), as I was filling out the word doc it closed my log in down and now doesn't recognise my authorisation. I made it to interview stage last year with Net R but was rejected, I asked for the feedback they had offered 3 times but never heard back... Not on here for a gripe but does anyone know whats going on with them?

Network rail is just weird, i have made it to interview stage 3times after passing assessment with flying colors @their euston assessment centre, and i was rejected without even been interviewed face to face....its totally weird how they do their recruitment. I have called their manchester recruitment office on several occasions and they always tell me its all in the hand of the hiring manager and that there is nowt they can do about it....well i dont care about them anymore seen i have got an offer with southwest trains.....

I had a few problems along the way, including getting locked out of my applications account a few times (being unable to access the login screen). In my case deleting cookies sorted the latter, but the HR folk in Manchester helped me on my way - it's worth giving them a ring, if you've got the patience to get through the various automated options.

Seems its not just me then. I spent a few hours and eventually managed (I hoped) to get a completed application electronically sent off..... I live in Leeds with a partner in Barnsley so a position in Doncaster seemed reasonable. I have been forwarded to the next stage but the position is actually at Barton on Humber! 125 mile round trip per day so I will have to do a double take. I have now to complete the comms test over the phone which I did over a year ago, fairly straight forward from what I remember. Really want to get into signalling/railways so just got to get my head down.... wait out.

Good luck then - all the stress and confusion will be well worth it if you do get through!

I was talking to a crossing keeper at Etwall, and he said that he wrote to them about it, hard nothing for 18 months, then was invited to an interview out of the blue.

Good luck to you though!
