According to the BBC Dorres has admitted that whole she told the whips she would be away from Westminster she did not inform them that she would be on vacation.

The local constituency party are also saying that they had not been informed that she would not be available for constituency business.

She is now digging an even deeper hole to bury any remaining credability that she once had with both her party and the constituency that she represents..<(

She wasn't gone that long and I'm sure a lot of the 'outrage is being grossly exaggerated! Many people won't care and probably didn't even know who she was before. It does seem that she had good intentions, even if it was probably a rather misjudged move.

She wasn't even gone that long (although she could have been and nobody could know that).

Some sections of the media will now ensure this drags on and will keep going until it forces a resignation and another by-election.

Thats probably true, including a lot of her own constituents - many of whom probably didn't vote at all let alone for her :p

I have just had a thought, that after her meeting with the Government chief whip, Sir George Samuel Knatchbull Young, she should ask the Speaker if she could address the House and say....

"I'm a celebrity...get me out of here"...:D

No doubt there would be many in the House who would endorse the second part of this view.

I fear "Knatchbull Young" will save her the trouble by saying........

"Your not a celebrity...get out of here"
