I have my Dmi on Monday, how soon did you get the results and was it through email?Just got my DMI results and as expected, didn’t get it. Not surprised, nerves got the better of me. Best of luck to every else!

Sorry to hear that. It must be devastating. I think a few of us got all our hopes up.
I don’t understand how they are getting candidates through the recruitment process if there’s no jobs.
How long is the successful application last for? How long can they keep you on a talent pool? If vacancies occur surely they’ll just give you a start date ?

Lol same here!! Don’t lose hope we should be offered a start date hopefully this year!!! We are in now they will offer us a job don’t worry!
GA depot drivers at Ilford move the 315's and MTR drivers move the 345's....Gidea Park depot drivers are all now out on the mainline.
There are no jobs at Gidea Park or Ilford apart from the ghost links that trainees go into after passing out, then they will moved to Abbey Wood. I have a mate waiting for a transfer.
MTR have just taken some Qualified drivers that are now at Gidea from C2C, I'm lead to believe.

I spoke to An old work colleague a couple of days ago who joined crossrail as a trainee 3 years ago! He said that the delays obviously aren’t helping and the whole thing seems to have come a bit of a stand still, which I saw again on the news today saying how behind it is and not even able to say a possible date!?!
He said that Abbey wood station doesn’t even have trains running from it and so some drivers have been sent to work from the east and others just go in everyday, sit around for a few hours and then go home!
So maybe it’s a case of having to wait for Abbey wood to open and then send drivers over to there before they can start filling the east again! ♂️

What’s ghost links do trainees?
I think there links that are set up with jobs in. The trainees go into that until they move to either Old Oak or Abbey Wood. Once everything is in place, the trainees will move to their respect depots and the ghost link will will merge back onto the main links.

All correct except the ghosts links were removed in December after the first batch of drivers went to Abbey Wood and the main links were extended. The next batch of drivers to move over are in the main link. Not sure when they are going.
The drivers who moved Abbey Wood will be involved in the testing, however, will still be required to do booked jobs on the East to maintain route knowledge.
I’ve also had the holding pool in the east email. I replied asking to know my position on the waiting list? Still waiting on a reply but from reading this thread I suppose it could change if they’re still interviewing and newer candidates score higher. Seems strange they’re still interviewing or have I misread the thread?
Just treat it is a normal conversation. They ain’t there to catch you out. As long as you’ve done your research on the company and the role of a train driver you’ll be fine. In their defence, it's not MTR Crossrail who've ballsed up, but Crossrail themselves. MTR Crossrail have targets set with TfL which they have to meet or be fined, so they are continuing to employ drivers so their targets are met, and are fully ready to go once Crossrail manage to finish their work. These further delays to the infrastructure however means its unfortunate for some who are now hanging around in a pool.Sounds like they've ballsed up massively! Let's just hope this set back is only a short term thing!
So where does that leave trainee drivers once they’ve fully passed out and qualified. If Crossrail won’t be completed until 2020 there would be a handful of newly qualified drivers doing what ?. I guess sitting around or route learning?
I work for MTR Crossrail, what I currently see is that drivers or lets say newly qualified drivers are usually together usually with another experienced driver so on the East and the West where trains are currently running you will see that there are 2 trainee drivers and an experienced driver in the cabin and seems like they just swap around each driver learning the routes.

Once passed out, newly qualified drivers would be assigned to a depot and given standard jobs to do. The only exception is Abbey Wood, however, new drivers have not been moved their yet.
They wouldn't be sent out with another qualified driver, certainly not on the East. The only people who would be with an instructor would be trainee drivers.

I’m a customer experience assistant, waiting 3 months for my probation to end and hopefully apply as a driver if any vacancies become available. Starting with the company in customer experience is great, already have a good in sight in the company and the railway and gaining great connections.Oh right , well at least they are doing something practical and gaining experience rather then sitting around. Wow well done congrats! You must be very happy! I waited 2 weeks for the email to be told i passed!!! Now I’m on a talent pool waiting for a start date in the East Depots ..
