So was successful in my MMI yesterday! Couple of tests quite tough and really need to concentrate but all in all not a bad day! People that do the interviews are really cool and put you at ease. Fingers crossed for the final stage now.

Quick Question for people that have been offered a start date! Again I’m planning ahead as to if I pass but have you been told anything about if you get time off for holidays etc? Or is a solid 10 months? Trying to get on the easy jet sale haha

Congratulations again mate. Good to see you yesterday. So I went in for my MMI last, after everyone else had gone home ...… and I passed :D . So happy. Now we wait for a DMI date...….

Cheers mate

Thanks! And yeah don’t think I’ll ask about my annual leave in the DMI haha! Am just trying to pre plan a little for next year but best to hold off on everything and concentrate on this so probably best to have no plans for now.
Oh my all means ask, I just meant from my experience with getting info from them since accepting the offer has been non existent, so don't expect an answer.

Hi all, great to hear you're all advancing and have recieved start dates - exciting stuff!

Still awaiting a DMI date, completed my OTDPQ around 3 weeks but not heard anything back yet, should I be worried? How long did you all wait for a date, if you don't mind me asking?

Hey guys!

I have my assessment in a few weeks. Does anybody have any advice for the assessment day? Perhaps a basic layout for the day as well?

It would be greatly appreciated!

:D

Hi All, i had my stage 2 assessments today and luckily passed. I had a previous failure for the grey box but luckily all i had to sit was this again. I done the MMI, it was relaxed and i went in 2nd. I found myself waffling on abit and was asked to slow down but this was only on the 1st question and i composed myself. I found out id passed before id even left the room. Im applying for maidenhead anyone else for maidenhead? Best of luck to all.

Congrats on passing your MMI! I too applied for Maidenhead and was offered Old Oak to start in January, I didn't want to rock the boat and question it and was overwhelmed at the offer so stupidly didn't ask why....

Do you live closer to Old Oak?? Are they both similar distances from you?

They shouldn't make you transfer then, that wouldn't make sense. I can still get to old oak within 40mins just about, so maybe they're giving other people around the Berkshire area a chance

I live in Maidenhead..... I'm going to email and pose the question, check about transferring when qualified etc

When I spoke to HR they told me the reason they are switching people from Maidenhead to old oak common was due to a large number of qualified train drivers going to Maidenhead so the need for trainee drivers wasn’t there any more. Obviously I accepted old oak common but it will be around 40-45 min to get to whereas Maidenhead is around a 10minute journey if that.

It does suck but tbh I’m just happy to get in and will definitely look to transfer across when I’m able to.

Indeed, what a start... they open the doors at approx 8.30 am. I had my 2nd stage assessment yeterday and fortunately passed. Good luck!

Well that's it, I could walk to work in 15mins, so am gutted, but at the same time wasn't going to do anything that may cause them to withdraw my offer lol I've sucked it up and will deal with it later, I'm sure there will be a chance to transfer. Are you starting on the 7th Jan too?

Well done.

On your interview stage, did they ask questions about Crossrail, or was it just the six questions you write down?

They did not ask about Crossrail at all; I provided a written answer to 6 questions which formed the basis for the interview. During the interview there were a few more additional questions, all related to safety, working alone, keeping focus, doing a repetitive job etc.

Hi Arch.

I had my DMI on 03/10/18 and then got the email on 16/10/18 to say I had passed and to wait by mid November.

I am still waiting and have not heard anything yet, i have also applied for the ilford depot.

So far anyone who has commented on this forum and has got a start date have applied at other depots not for ilford and gidea park...
Hi iceberg.
Congratulations. I too have applied for ilfotd depot. Any tips for the DMI? Someone mentioned on here they might ask about performance figures for MTR.. did you have any questions on that? Thanks

They ask you what you know about the company. Is up to you how deep on it you want to go. They did not ask me anything specific.

The only specific thing they asked me after I rambled on for about 5mins was about the signals, they also said it didn't matter if I didn't know because I had already given enough info...(which didn't make sense, because why ask if it doesn't matter? Lol) I only knew one thing about the signals, and I passed the DMI. There's all the info you need on here with a bit of digging... Or, go to MTR and crossrail websites and take a bit of info from every page (is basically what I did) depending on how much you want the job, you can't over prepare
