Yeh I start on the 7 Jan too
I don't know the class size, but it looks like that we have a big chunk of it here.

Anyone of you had your medical? What to expect? Just the usual colour blindness, eyesight , drugs and alcohol or something else?

I’ve heard its one class that would start in a month with 10 ppl, so hopefully they have spaces for Feb , March and April it seems that as they’re filling Jan up so far from this thread.

Medical isn't that bad mate. All of what you mentioned plus; diabetes check, hearing test and ECG. Think that was it.

Guys I called HR for an update and they told me to wait a few more weeks as the west depots are priority and they will fill Ilford and Gidea park slots within the coming weeks..

Glad to hear from people who are further along and being offered start dates!
I have my MMI on Friday at Watford so the panic of getting that done is starting! Fingeres crossed it all goes well and then one last hurdle.
Pre planing if it all goes well but...
How long before you hear if passed MMI? And how long to get the DMI?

They will tell you about the MMI at the same day.

You do the computer tests, they mark it, then they do the MMI and mark it as well.

You will leave the assessment knowing if you passed or not. About the DMI depends on MTR schedule, OPC won't be able to tell you. Neither us actually. You can give them a call, but I wouldn't be surprised if it only by the beginning of next year.

Good Luck.

For this position? The one that opened at July/18?

Because it seems that everyone so far has received their results at the same day. At least was one of the best things of this process with MTR, apart from DMI, you received the assessment results straight away.

So was successful in my MMI yesterday! Couple of tests quite tough and really need to concentrate but all in all not a bad day! People that do the interviews are really cool and put you at ease. Fingers crossed for the final stage now.

Quick Question for people that have been offered a start date! Again I’m planning ahead as to if I pass but have you been told anything about if you get time off for holidays etc? Or is a solid 10 months? Trying to get on the easy jet sale haha

Congratulations on getting through to a DMI. They ask in the interview if you have any planned/booked holiday. If you do and you're successful then I think they offer you a course that's starts after your holiday. If i remember correctly you get told that you don't have any holiday for the duration of your training.

I have a feeling annual leave gets rostered in for you, as it does when you're qualified and start driving eg work 8 weeks have 2 weeks off. Finding out what annual leave you'll be rostered before you've started training I feel would be a failing mission though lol

Thanks! And yeah don’t think I’ll ask about my annual leave in the DMI haha! Am just trying to pre plan a little for next year but best to hold off on everything and concentrate on this so probably best to have no plans for now.

No date yet! Just told crossrail will in contact, first with another set of situational judgement questions that help form basis of DMI and then with a date. No idea if timescale though.

As for the day, everything has been covered in here already and is all in the book we was given. The 3 assessments you can’t really practice for much but speed and accuracy is key. You do them one after the other and will take about 45 minutes and then marked straight away. If you pass you’re given a sheet with 6 “give an example of a time when you have....” style questions to write a short sentence on and which you will then expand on in the interview and they will also ask a few questions as you go along. Interview itself is one-2-one and quite relaxed, mine lasted 40 minutes. Good luck.
