I have been given the same start date although I originally applied for Ilford Depot but have been offered old oak common. Anyone else applied for Ilford?

Blimey, have you accepted? Is that not a bit of mission travel wise for you?

Some others on here who applied for Maidenhead had been offered Old Oak instead so its not the first time someones depot been changed but depends where you live maybe similar distance to both depots??

I'm still waiting for any update since passing my DMI back at the end of October. I applied for Gidea Park and all I know is that they are delaying things due to West depots being a priority.
What's this welcome pack? I've not had such thing. Is that sent after you get a start date?

Yes, you get the welcome pack as part of the 'acceptance of offer' just gives you forms to fill in for your travel card, pension, secondary employment etc

Trainee. Start on 3rd Dec. Had interview in September. All happened really quickly
Quick question, when did you receive the information about your first day, not the starting day, but the time and where... I'm due to start in 7th Jan, but since my uniform fitting there was no contact at all.

Still 3 weeks to go, I know, but with Christmas and New Year in between... Lol

HI Guys

My first post here! I have my assessment coming up soon but been so busy with current job and haven't even started any revision. In regards to the actual day is what they provided enough for practice or do i need more? can some elaborate if they have already sat this on what i can expect?
i think the group Bourbon test i'll need to practice loads and the Driver fault finding i found ok tbh.
what can i expect for trainability rules and procedures 1 + 2?

any help appreciated, thanks

Does anyone know if there will be anymore vacancies coming up soon or do they have a large backlog of candidates already?

They’ve recently just took on a number of trainees, more then usual. They are short of instructors at the moment also with Crossrail delayed I can’t see them recruiting any time soon but I could be wrong.

Hey there. I took mine a while ago so don't want to mislead you with dodgy info, but if you go back to the beginning of this thread there's loads of info in this convo... :D

Yeah same for me but I’ve applied for Gidea Park mate! I’ve seen on here that people were getting contacted about a month after completeing the personality test to book in for there DMI! But for me that would be Christmas Eve so I’d imagine I’ll have to just wait until the NY now! Just want to have a date booked in now but just need to be patient I guess!

Multi Modal Interview
Drivers Manager Interview

Wireless mouse for the assessments? You sit 3 computer based assessments at your MMI but are supplied with a normal mouse which is all you need!

Ahh good luck mate. Just keep practicing. I couldn’t remember how many I done at the assessments but in practice i aimed for around 11/12 lines with next to no errors. Make sure you don’t make errors. Balance speed and accuracy. Most on our assessment got sent home after the first 3 assessments

What depot you apply for and when did you submit it? I’m worried they’ve stopped as I’ve not heard anything and waiting a DMI but would imagine they are prioritizing west depots first.

Thanks Sam- i did my online tests in August then kept getting emails saying they are really busy and couldn't give me an assessment date. Finally got one in October saying ive been booked in for an assessment day on 17th Jan 2019! i wasn't to fuss as i'm pretty busy in my current job.

I applied for the Ilford depot as luckily enough i live in Ilford so that's a touch of luck

can i ask you do you remember the order of the tests on the day? been reading on some other threads that out of 15 people only 3 people were going through to the afternoon session, seems a bit drastic?

Hey there! The cuts are drastic, but don't let that concern you or make you lose focus, especially if you're making it through. Don't worry too much on other people, really just practise the material they've sent you as much as possible. At the end of the day, as long as you've done your best, that's all that matters. With some of these tests, I think you have the necessary skill set or you don't, regardless of practise. Also, MTR require you pass with higher than the national average, again making it trickier. So do your best, if its meant to be it'll be :D
