Hey, I have been a qualified driver for the past 6 years, and looking for a change, don't mind where I work but have always wanted to get into a FOC !
I have recently applied for a role at Balfour Beatty and have an interview in the next few weeks, I have some friends who work for Balfour as fitters and such but don't know anyone who is an actual driver.
Would anyone be able to shed some light on what a 'normal' shift would be like? I understand the role is mostly nights and that's about it, have reached out to there interview team but have yet to get a response.
Finding it hard to find any information about the role at all.
any help would be majorly appreciated

Could you ask your friends to put you in touch with the drivers there? Or ask them to ask questions on your behalf! Just thinking in the absence of any responses on here that may be your next best step.

Is there a location as that maybe easier to pinpoint work.

My guess would be on the southern region operating MPV's on network rail contracts.
So leafall and sandite runs, and de icing the 3rd rail in the winter.

Yeah mate it will be in the southeast, I’m guessing it would be more moving rail equipment around during the summer

Hello mate, have you had your interview? How did it go? Any more info you can share regarding the role?

They have opened up a trainee/apprentice role for MPV operators now.
