As someone who was born in Harrogate, I know the Nidd quite well. The hospital was in Starbeck which is firmly on dry land but if you want the full Nidd experience then the legendary Knaresborough Bed Race is for you. Paddling to Heron Quays where hopefully there are towels and dry clothing.
