More issues with electrification. Losing track of how many times this has happened.

Must be some sort of design flaw at this point? Wasn't the GWML electrification vastly over specified as well (or at least that seemed to be the prevailing wisdom).

Haven't most of the problems with the OLE been between Heathrow Airport Junction and Paddington on the 90s-spec stuff (which was emphatically NOT over-specified).
There's been comparatively few failures on the stuff put in a few years ago from Airport Junction to Didcot/Newbury (has it reached Swindon yet?)

These incidents are all because of damage to the lines, not them failing on their own. You can invest as much money as you want, but at the end of the day the wires are just that, wires. If you pull them hard enough they will fall down.

We have never been given details on why they've failed down, but I would presume either accidents, or there's a design flaw with one/multiple trains on the line, which is causing them to go around pulling the lines down.

There have been a fair few failures between Airport junction and Reading, just not further on, which makes sense as service levels drop hugely.

here to eternity
I was on a Paddington bound IET this morning and we briefly lost power in the Iver area. This is while we were crawling along in a queue of trains due to a points failure at Southall.

Can't see any problems at Reading, there was a flash and bang at Westbourne Park that tripped out the Up Relief and Up Main from Maidenhead to London for a short while for about 10 minutes. So, the older stuff again.

No issues with the OHL today, no design flaw.
As others have mentioned there was a trip out just outside Paddington this morning, however after inspection of the area by OHL teams, no problems have been found.

The defect on 8190A points at Southall and resultant 20mph speeds put on the UM and DM caused far more trouble today than the momentary power trip on the OHL.

The OHL on the GWML is comparatively more reliable than the kit on other main lines.

I'd be filthy rich if I got a £1 for every time there's been a "points failure at Southall" last year
