The October 2012 issue is a special 132 page commemorative issue, celebrating the 50th year of the magazine and also celebrating half a century from Beeching to High Speed 1.
Is it out yet? Thought it wasn't due till the 28th (4th Friday).
This seems to be an advantage given to people who have an annual subscription for Modern Railways.
When I first started reading it in 1963, I didn't realise what a recent venture it was. Thanks, Modern Railways, for (in my case) 49 years of good, detailed honest journalism.
As you say, it's now a thoroughly good read. I usually start with Alan Williams and then Roger Ford.
