Having completed the second quarter, this period is 7015 miles. In April, I had some very big mileages, with the Derbyshire Wayfarer (including the Glasgow - Sheffield via Preston and Manchester) clocking up 630 miles. The trip to Fareham and Southampton, returning to London via the Laverstock Junctions ICXC diversions, plus the homeward trip from Kings Cross via the Knottingley and Sherburn-in-Elmet diversion clocked up 780 miles. My famous abandonment of my final EC Rewards ticket and switching plans saw me clock up 333.5 for Barnhill - Edinburgh - Newcastle - Carlisle - Glasgow, with the Glasgow Central - Stirling via Rutherglen & Coatbridge Railway was 70 miles. The following day was a Glasgow Central - Preston - Manchester - London Euston - London Marylebone - Birmingham Moor Street - Class 323 hunting - Liverpool Lime Street - Preston - Edinburgh Waverley - Airdrie - Glasgow Queen Street next morning, which came to a whopping 916 miles.
Big mileages in May were the Roundabout Glasgow to do the Mossend North - East curve (154 miles), Midland & Great Central Railtour (459 miles), the trip to London via Manchester in both directions (829 miles) and Class 313 hunting the day before (42 miles), and failed trip to Berney Arms was 329 miles.
In June, there was not much big mileages individually as I was doing some local bits and pieces (mainly short runs to Pollokshaws West when spotted required Class 156s at Glasgow Central). However, I did a Freedom of the North East Rover, with the overall trip including to and from the start and finish points being a whopping 1858 miles.
My year's total for the first half stands at 9347 miles. In comparison to 2015, the first half was 7711 miles, therefore I feel that I am confident of at the very least equallising 2015's total.
