April was a poor month for me, bringing my total to only 7870 by the end of the month. It's highly unusual for me to do as few as 897 miles in a month.

I'm now on 6,100 miles following my recent mega-bash. This takes me to 12th place in the table, which is probably as high up it as I'm going to get now.
Well on target for 12,000 miles by the end of the year. Not got much planned though that will significantly boost the mileage. If I hit 10,000 I'll be happy!

Last year, on everything I spent around £3,300 on bashing. That covered trains, buses, coaches, hotels and general expenditure, as well as air fares.
As of end Q1 2016, I'd spent around £1,474. Mind you, that did include a trip to New York! My end of 2016 figure is going to be enormous, and the half time scores and figures will be posted in my Rolling Review thread at the end of June.

£490 this year so far. This works out at 7p per mile which I find to be incredible value. Receiving delay repay compensation also helps reduce the cost of future trips (got over £100 to spend at the moment).

I've had, and still have more, time to kill this morning. So rather than waiting for the next Tech's Bookwork Weekend, which might not happen tomorrow yet, I've got my RM back up to date following Monday's Cheshire adventure.
I'm now on 6,320 miles for 2016 so far, which maintains my 15th position in the mileage table for now. Unless the boss changes the plan for Monday, I should be adding some more to that total on Monday
1,320 miles ahead of the target for now, but I don't know how much I won't get in June so at least I have a buffer to fall back on. In management speak, that's planning for adverse variance!
Anyway, something you'll all be far more interested in is the mileage data for the Midland Metro extension. I must point out, like last time, this is all data that was compiled by the Branch Line Society and was kindly shared on Gensheet on the basis their work was rightly acknowledged. So here's the details everyone will be asking for soon enough:
Bull Street is at 20.13km
Corporation Street's Wolverhampton=bound platform is at 20.38km
Corporation Street's Grand Central-bound platform is at 20.43km
Grand Central is at 20.62km
So you're all asking what that is in chains? I'm using Google for my conversions, and according to them 1 metre is 0.0497097 chains. So in terms of the moves we'll all be doing from Monday onwards:
Bull Street to Corporation Street is 14.91 chains
Corporation Street to Grand Central is 9.44484 chains
Grand Central to Corporation Street is 11.9303 chains
Corporation Street to Bull Street is 12.4274 chains
Bull Street to Grand Central (applies to both directions) is 24.8548 chains
I would apply one of the most basic rules of mathematics here, but I prefer to round the above figures down to avoid any claim of fudging! So I'm counting the above journeys as 14, 9, 11, 12 and 24 chains respectively.

If it's not open on Monday now me and Kite are going to be fuming!
After a couple of unplanned trips this month, I'm now on 12,984 miles and 16 chains, which means I'm currently in 4th place.
That means I've managed to beat the annual mileage target for the whole year I set back in January (12,000 miles) already, so my new target is 25,000 miles by the end of the year. I've still got my All Line Rover planned, this should hopefully be sometime in July, but I'll be able to confirm it once a good friend of mine who will be joining me confirms his time off work. As for where we're going this year, we have a few ideas in mind...

Thanks, I've done much better than I thought I would have! I put that down to changing my focus to clearing classes for haulage rather than getting coverage of new track, so I'm doing a lot more journeys over previously covered track rather than the less frequent long distance journeys I did last year.
I bagged 31 winner Class 319s over Thursday and Friday, as well as a few other winner units and new stations visited whilst I was in London, so I'm extremely pleased with that as well, as that means I have over half of the 319s cleared for haulage.
Hehe, I've been saving for it since the start of the year, I'm still a bit short but I should have enough by the start of July with any luck. I think I could fall short of the 25,000 miles target though, but if I get above 20,000 miles, I'll be happy with that.

Possibly, I've got a lot of overtime this week (including tomorrow, every little helps!) so I'll try and write something up next weekend if I think on. Talking of trip reports, I should try and get on with finishing off the 507s and 508s at some point...
Thanks. Last year my friend and I didn't do too badly, I think all in we spent about £50 on food and drinks between us, which wasn't too bad we thought. Most of the time we just bought some bread and cold meat fillings (ham, chicken etc) from the Co-op and made sandwiches at his Dad's house (where we stayed last year) to take with us during the day. Still, it was pretty productive, hopefully this year's is as well.

I have finally updated my figures for the first time since March 
. I am now on 4616 miles 6 chains. May turned out to be the second month this year where my mileage on LUL, DLR and Tramlink exceeded my National Rail mileage, which didn't happen at all last year. Now I am on number 23 in the list.
