June has been another (and hopefully the final) slow month for me. I've accumulated an additional 372mi 14ch - mainly thanks to a run up from Southend Airport to Lincoln. Total for the year now stands at 4771mi 69ch.

This coming month, I've got plans for a Heart of England 3 in 7 Rover, to use my complimentary Northern voucher and another Southern Daysave / TfL bash (just before the Olympics!) which should improve things somewhat.

Still canna decide for sure on whether to do a Supertram or Metrolink bash tomorrow, gonna have to make a decision soon though! Whichever I do, I hope the mileage is in RailMiles already...

Both are present AFAIAA with some exceptions of newer lines.

Should be able to get the Supertram lot out of the Quail anyway. New bits like the Metrolink to Oldham Mumps obviously won't be though, and that's on a different route from Victoria than Northern used to use.

I've just tried the short distance between Sheffield Station/Sheffield Hallam University (Supertram) and Fitzalan Square/Ponds Forge (Supertram); it has returned the seemingly correct mileage of 0mi 38ch

After some quick fiddling around on RM, the availability of mileages on there is as follows - however please don't take this list as gospel:

Available Fully / Partially
LUL
Croydon Tramlink
Nottingham Express Transit
DLR (except Stratford International extension)
Manchester Metrolink (except St Werburgh's Rd extension - Oldham extension is available)
Sheffield Supertram (some)

Unavailable
Glasgow Subway (though I have got mileages for that in the past I think)
Midland Metro
Tyne & Wear Metro
Dublin Luas
Blackpool Tramway

Quail does, however it is in metric, and only shows the metres between each stop. The Oldham extension is available on RailMiles.

Tyne and Wear Metro will be in metric, so probably not compatible with Rail Miles.

Supertram mileages are on Railmiles, however the distance along the "third side" of the triangle is not.

just added another 1900 miles:

Stockholm-Narvik
Narvik-Lulea
Kemi-Helsinki

Koruna-Narvik and return was very good, I especially liked the double headed electric locos used on the iron ore trains. BTW, do not buy tickets on SJ intercity trains, I was charged an extra 20 quid on a 35 quid ticket

The Oldham Mumps mileage is already on RailMiles (but it could be because it was a former rail route (so the future extension to Rochdale might be the same until the new route via Oldham town centre is launched)) so for that reason I'm not 100% sure it is completely accurate as there are variations to the route, but will go with that mileage for now until there is a correction or it is fully confirmed

Have just checked other stations like Shaw & Crompton & Milnrow and the mileages are also on RailMiles too (even though they are not open yet)
Plus its still showing as Dean Lane where the station is know known as Newton Heath & Moston now!!!!!!

Cheers gang, I think when I tried looking for Sheffield Station to Halfway the other day it wouldn't work, but I'll soon get the Quail out when I've finished adding the moves and do some figures converting.

7798 miles. Few more journeys to go in the next few days. Hopefully will break 10,000 before my railcard expires. Can't imagine I will be going on many more journeys after it expires.

I've stalled due to lack of funds! once my YP runs out I'd be on a lot of advances, I doubt I'd waste money on an ALR, it costs alot without!

Might switch over to road miles after, much cheaper!!

As it turns out, I can get a renewal on my YP right up to the day before I turn 26! Another year of traveling!

Hopefully, I can get an ALR done sometime between now and next September!

Go for it, you'll only regret it otherwise. Despite being too old for railcards now (how I envy you youngsters!) I'm now considering doing another ALR vice Australia next year! <D Yes I love them that much, Monday's rather restrictive bash to Sheffield was incredibly dull in comparison. Miss the freedom to go where I want, almost when I want.

Next one will be virtually entirely mileage focussed though, so lots of belting it up the WCML for the epic tilt and the ECML for high speed 91-age! Preferably all in FC too <D

Having just returned from a two week ALR (clocking up over 5,100), my total to day this year is now over 6,000.

I've just worked out the provisional mileages for the FoSS meet and based on it and personal extras in that time (i.e. travel between Bath/Bristol and the meet) my estimated mileage is almost exactly the equivalent of Bristol TM to Severn Beach and back more than 1,000 miles - only 64 chains' difference!

That will put me up to a total of 5,790 for the year. A bit leisurely in truth, but what can you do...?

I enjoyed the Pendolino tilt on WCML at Easter. It was in Standard Class though:(

Just added another 1000 or so.

2874 miles this month which is a record for me! I doubt I will get to 10,000 this month, but I have a few trips planned for August (Freedom of Scotland) and September (Freedom of the South West & Explore Wales).

Quite looking forward to Wales!

PKP TLK ticket prices are brilliant, 11 quid for 250 miles from Warsaw to Wroclaw, paid on the day :)

did Wroclaw to Poznan yesterday, chaos as the line is being modernised. Nice to see the steam engine in the engine depot south of Poznan Glowny waiting to do the southbound late afternoon servce
