Last week (Wenesday) Did my First Pendo haulage of the year, on a day trip from New Street to Euston (Can't be bothered to sort out tube miles)

So now up to 1580 miles, and will be adding 400 odd soon as up to scotland next weekend.

At the rate you're going you'll clear 60,000! How do you do it?

way too many flexi rover tickets on my days off, especially the 4 in 8 coast & peaks cos It can get me from home (Derby) to North Wales (its about £1 more than a return from Derby to Holyhead, which I have to do once a fortnight anyways), plus I sometimes see my friends around Liverpool & Manchester on my days off work too, so the travel in that sense is so much cheaper, plus there is a great variety of DMU & EMU's plus the odd 57 (and now 67) thrown into the bargain, great value!!!!!!

another 515 mıles last nıght, Izmir to Ankara. Then there'll be another 1200 on Sunday/Monday wıth Ankara-Kars.

Traın travel ın Turkey ıs bloody cheap, about £33 for last nıght wıth a sıngle use sleepıng cabın and £30 for sunday's trıp. Agaın sleeper but I suspect I may be sharıng.

Clocked over the first thousand yesterday after a trip to Doncaster. Total now stands at 1051 miles & 37 chains. Mid Norfolk Railway Diesel Gala on Sunday will add some more, with a few odds & ends possibly until the end of the month when it's time for another railtour.

A short journey today was enough to tip me over the thousand mark as well, 1,007.7 to be exact.

Just wondering who is Gareth Taylor, 250000 miles in 3 months :o :o :o????

Not another one

That would be this guy. One would hope that it is related to the date, but if not based on a time of 19:00 on April 1st that works out as 250,000 miles (slightly more than the distance between the Earth and the Moon at 238,000 miles) in 2,203 hours - an average of nearly 115mph.

By contrast, your figure works out at a very believable 7mph.

Now up to 1131 miles & 35 chains after gaining over 75 miles on the Mid Norfolk Railway today during an excellent Diesel Gala. Will certainly be returning there for another future gala. :D

Big update on my total due soon, will shortly be posting a thread asking for some mileage gen so as to fill in the gaps but it's fair to say I probably did well over 700 miles on my Irish adventure :D

A bit of recalculating is in order after a bumper week, adding about 900 miles of Pendo travel alone  rounded off back down on earth with an East Yorkshire Round Robin which made for an enjoyable end to the week.

The update may be a little while coming as I'm tied up with the London Challenge this week, which in itself will up the total further. I know for certain I have doubled the years' mileage in the week though :)

I seem to have reached 10000 surprisingly fast this year.

Jammy, I'm only on 4,880. Although to be fair, my total didn't reach that high anywhere as fast last year. Indeed, March 2012 saw me get 2,289 of my year's total so far, an impressive amount.

My Irish trip brought a lot of mileage to 2012's total, including the UK mileage. 1,517 miles and 37 chains, and that's not including mileage for some of the moves  <D Also got another Irish trip coming up, on which I plan to spend a day in Dublin on the Luas system, as I need all of it bar Connolly to Heuston. Won't be as big a mileage trip as last time, but should see me get most of the trams I need for sight. Didn't know 5001 - 5026 existed, so got something like 39 trams to still see and all bar 3 of them to bash!

EDIT: Just updated my mileage thing and I see I'm now 16th. Looks much better than it did before, and I've realised I'm almost 1/4 the way to achieving my mileage target for 2012. With an anticipated 10,000 due to come off my ALR, I don't see myself struggling to hit the target, and we're only a little over 1/4 the way through the year! :D

Added 645.6 Miles over the last weekend.

So total at the moment is 2225 Miles now.

Being WVH - EDB (221) Arrived about 6+ early at Haymarket and had to wait outside the station, Train got to Carstairs Junction at 15:45 ish, instead of normal 16:00 ish

EDB - ARM, ARM - GLQ (334)

Few journeys between GLC & EXG & One between EXG & PTK (Mix of 318s and 320s)

New journeys due to delays at Central High Level

GLC (Low Level) to MTK (Motherwell) on a 334.
MTK - WVH on a 390 which was about 26 late into Wolvo.

Then WVH - STA and back the following day after seeing brother, both on 220's.

My dissertation is finally catching up with me. April has only logged 73 miles so far, but I'm hoping to at least squeeze a day rover in one day next week.

Current total stands at 3590 miles 3ch.

I've been trying to calculate the distance between Stratford to Woolwich Arsenal on the DLR using mileage.railmiles.org but no combination I use works. It seems that any route I try on that part of the DLR doesn’t work.

Is this a problem with website that Tom? should know about?

Can anyone tell me the answer in the meantime? Thanks.

See post 93 in this thread for the DLR distances on the Stratford extension.

After all that happened over the Easter holiday, I didn't get quite as much as I might have liked, owing to finances, but certainly in relation to this...

Now up to 1,475 for the year. Still not great, but I hope to obliterate that figure over Easter - and potentially increase that three-fold.

...I have done pretty well! That 1,475 has indeed been increased three-fold; it now stands at 4,477 miles for this calendar year.

Currently showing as 24th out of 94.
