Believe it or not, I've probably done more miles so far this year than in any other year *

Yes. I am 17 and until Friday I spend 7 hours day in school, where I take the school bus or occasionally somone gives me a lift. My train trave; is limited to occassional trips into Glasgow ATM, but I was lucky to have a lot of reasons to go North in February, where I traveled about 850 miles out of my current 1350ish total

My point being not many under 17's would be off roaming the country on their own for hundreds of miles for reasons of time and cost, so don't feel bad.

Congrats 156401 for getting over the magical thou.

I see I'm in 9th place, which tempts me to go to Trowbridge tomorrow by train and not by bus. Hmm...

I suspect there's a few people on here doing the HST to Minehead on Saturday, would anyone happen to know mileage figures for Westbury to Minehead via Bristol? I'm guessing it's over 100 miles, but would anyone have a more accurate number?

Why not just use that thing called a mileage calculator in the very first post of this thread?
It's very easy to use...

Because I doubt Minehead is on there, as it is NOT a NR ticketing station

And i'm not even that, hence the fact that I don't have the ability to cover as many miles in a day away from School, because of the fact I have limited "bases" , and more importantly- I'd have to drive, or get a taxi to/from the nearest mainline station to me, to fully utilize very early departures, and very late arrivals.

I can't put into words the great feeling of being on a Pendo [FC of course] at around 8 in the morning, knowing that i've already covered quite a handsome [like me! :p] number of miles that day, whilst I feel that it should be far later in the day, knowing that I can get so much done in a day, when you fully utilize it :D ;)

Well, Minehead to Bishops Lydeard is what, 26 miles?
Bishops Lydeard to Norton Fitzwarren is about 3 miles, then what, another 3/4 miles to Taunton?
Simple, add all that up and use Taunton :p

Yes but some people like to have an accurate mileage not just a few guesses and fudge it!

As an aside Norton Fizz - M'head is 22.75 (to the nearest 0.25) and Tau - Fizz is 1.25 if I remeber correctly.

I dunno. I've not been counting preserved stuff.

Well I include anything that runs on rails if I can get the mileage / kilometres for it, including London Underground / DLR and trams. Have been known to resort to measuring with a GPS or on Google Earth where there have been no mile / km posts

PS Will get down to doing some updates when I have finished sorting my pics out for last month.

Well i'll continue to count pres, after all it is the future now, theres not a lot left of intrest on the mainline and other than the odd 37 tour all my main interset is on the pres front, i've even lost interest in HST's since FGW finished project MTU, always a place I enjoyed valentas in the west country, ECML and MML don't really do it for me!

Only six miles!.......I do between 66 and 94 miles a day when going to and from work.

 perhaps I had better go into and out of London every time to keep my mileage count up ;)
